If Stephen King and Steven Spielberg had a baby, this is EXACTLY what it would look it.
Orange Is The New Black is really a good show, and much different compared to other shows which are currently high rated.
The writers don't need that long to build up the characters. This is what I don't like at the beginning of many shows, because most of the time this is the boring part - until the whole story starts to develop. In Orange Is The New Black you got kicked in right from the start.
The actors are really good . All of them. And well written; and I got to admit that my favorite character is "Red". Not just because Kate Mulgrew played Captain Kathrin Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager, but because the character is build up so strong, and she's got so many facets.
You also get to know her in more backflashes (that explains how the people got into the prison). Some TV shows are using backflashes as well to explain some things, and usually I find that annoying, because it is a hard cut in the current plot; but the director in Orange Is The New Black is doing that so well, that it doesn't me bother at all - just the opposite: I want to know why the women got in there.
After watching the first three episodes I wrote that the show shouldn't be drama. It should be a comedy show. That is not true, after I watched the other episodes. Yes, there are funny scenes in it, but it defiantly got the strong drama parts as well.
I highly recommend to give this show a try, because you might wanna love it!
Doesn't respect the history, and i believe that the american audience will think everything in the show did really happen, i doubt this show will succeed in Europe because it ends up insulting the people.
If you're about to begin with Pretty Little Liars, let me tell you something:
You will love it on seasons 1 & 2 because of the unpredictable shocks and enormous suspense
You will hate it (but secretly you will love it) on seasons 3 & 4 because of the levels of delicious stupidity that the show reaches, but when you reach this point you are going to patiently wait for another episode because you desperately want to know what happens, even that you know that you will not get any answers until the finales.
This is how you make a good trashy tv show!
One of my favorites!
coven has been the worst of the bunch for me. im waiting to finish freak show to see if that still stands.
Why its always the teenager that get powers? Why not 40-something mother of five?
You have to go in expecting it to be a bit silly and it doesnt have the most talented editor but if you can get past that then you'll find fucking salvation!!! Imagine supernatural if it wasnt a homophobic, misogynistic, racist fuck up of a show. With actually funny as hell lines and great actors!! watch this, its really worth it!
This show is like a slutty awful version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Compared to this the movie is an Oscar winner. i never had a tv show that made me feel so sick, it was cliche after cliche, super bad acting, bad effects, bad casting, bad characters, bad script, bad costumes. I was really looking forward for this show since i kinda enjoyed the movie and i liked the story of the books but this is just down awful.
Just terrible, very terrible show
Wow wow Wow! !! !!!
I can not believe I just started this show and it is out for some years now.
This show is sooooo amazing. I am addicted ! :)
I stumbled across this little gem, probably because Netflix has bought the international streaming rights and were promoting it's release (29 June 2018), but I was able to watch the first season as broadcast on UK's Channel 4. What fascinated me was the way the film makers moved between the real and virtual worlds. Both the leads (Tallulah Haddon, Simona Brown) have such striking facial features that even in the live action they seemed to have a flawless animated quality. Dark themes akin to Dark Mirror. Excellent acting. Good writing (although there were some flawed logic jumps in episodes 5 and 6). This is quite an unusual thriller and I was giving each episode solid 7s (good) out of 10. If this series is renewed (no news yet but the finale set us up for another season) I will definite be rewatching it, which bumps up my rating to an 8 (great) for the series so far. (AN ASIDE - Beyond the presence of a reoccurring song in the sound track, I can't quite figure what the title has to do with the story). CAUTION: a fair amount of nudity. [SciFi Mystery/Triller]
Trakt doesn't allow emojis in comments, but If it were, my comment would be somerhing like: The soundtrack in this show is fire emoji fire emoji fire emoji.
Katherine McNamara is the perfect example of an "eycandy" for the masses.
she looks good but can´t act. Oh well, she can act.. she´s just bad at it.
this shitty clown scared the hell out of me when I was little. But the second part of the move with the spider is ridiculous...
Horrible... horrible, simply boring.
I can't agree with any of the reviews, the acting is terrible, the special effects are 2005- quality, the plot is unimaginative. This is not what I was expecting! I am truly disappointed.
I have this feeling, you know... I think the show will end with S1.
... another title for my DROPPED list!
oh absolutely.
5/5 a total masterpiece fuck the gossip!
Going into this I did not think I would like this at all but I loved it. I think this is my favorite performance from Drew Barrymore yet! Very binge worthy.
It amuses me no end that when searching for this to check in, the other shows that come up are various Christian Veggy Tales ROFL
I did not expect it would be so fun, I'll finish in a single day!
Never into musicals but I am liking this show. It is fun and different and makes me laugh. The singing is entertaining and sounds good. I hope the ratings increase so that they will keep making it. Probably one the few shows I look forward to anymore.
I just don't see this working as a TV show. I can see it dragging on and being really dumb. Just feels like a typical MTV teen drama with a few murders thrown in.
The writers of Mixology set themselves up with a fantastic premise (and a series deadline) from the get-go. One night, one bar, one group of friends, 13 episodes. It almost sounds impossible, doesn't it? Yet Mixology comes out with flying colors and a sting in my heart that makes me want more, much more of this show, despite knowing that there isn't a way in which Mixology could live on, story-wise.
Adorkable Tom, confident Maya, sexy Ron, friendly Cal, Dominic the player, smart Jessica, innocent Liv, cute Kacey, and the brilliant brilliant brilliant (yes, thrice) Bruce, make up this group of friends and strangers. Each episode focuses on one particular relationship, while gravitating around others, setting them up for the next instalment.
Some pairings don't make sense at first, leading you to question the sanity of the two characters involved, but they either dwindle inevitably like you expected them to or move forward in a weird and enchanting way that forces you to reconsider your stance.
Mixology is light and funny, without a single weak link, but with many strong ones that elicit different feelings. You'll root for Tom, fall for Ron, want to slap some sense into Liv, admire Maya, and enjoy every single one of the other characters. You'll enjoy Bruce's comedic relief, his theories, the names he has for every single situation or action.
The show keeps you on your toes, wondering where things will really head, who will end up with whom and how. It's a mating game, but despite the original goal being simple pleasure, Mixology turns out to be more about humanity, friendships, love, and connection. The final resolution is satisfying and true to each character's nature.
If only there was a way to have more, more Mixes and more Ologies!
I couldnt care less about this show anymore it lost its apeal YEARS ago; and thats coming from a dude that used to watch this show religiously!
my "manually marked seen" plays don't count in the highscore. That is just mean!
This is a bad series for bad people. Anyone who watches it should be ashamed :D
I could watch Jen and Judy talk about nothing all day. Great casting and totally binge worthy.
Am I the only one who thinks comedy/sitcoms were better in general when they didn´t grew on trees?
Up to today "The Nanny" still is one of my all time favs. Although you knew from the start of the show were it would lead, and although they were using about every possible cliché, the characters grew on me and I not only watched for the good comedy it was but to see how the story and the characters evolved.
Today, whenever I happen to find an episode running, and it is still running somewhere, I can´t resist to watch.
