The main focus lies on the civil/public side of aviation so if you`re more interested in military aviation you won't find much in this show.
Nevertheless still a well made and informative magazine show.
One of the better History dokumentation since they are using original footage and eye witness accounts instead of re-enactment.
Personally I don't like the use of re-colored b/W material or the orange gun muzzle flashes in some of the b/w films. Those are historical documents that should not be tampered with. Therefore I rate it at 6 rather than 7.
Can't say this movie impressed me. I do not think it is superior in any regard to others of the genre. Compared with the original - well, whereas at the time of the first one it was something special today it's just another movie. And the fact that they didn't go further into the story doesn't help much either. They could have really done something here because the vision of those drones in todays world is not as much scifi as it was 1987. The fact how easily todays mass media can influence the public - that would have made this one a better movie I think. Instead they have their robots patroling in Teheran in "Operation Freedom". That alone is worth -1 in rating the movie.
The movie is all I thought it would be, or should I say feared it would be. For sure it's controversial, it's not family entertainment. It's not bad it just never reached me. After 70 min I felt I watched 2 hours and I couldn't bring myself to watch another 3 1/2 ;-)
Maybe I didn't get what Scorcese wanted to say with this movie but what it showed me (for as long as I watched it that is) is that there is no morality in the business world.
You instantly recognize a car show that is made by enthusiasts. This is one of them. I really love the backyard garage that is not all clean where you believe there is actual work beeing done. People are getting dirty hands.
While the idea of the car building and restoration shows on tv may have started in the US, I really love the british shows more. In the US there's shouting, cursing, yelling - it's more of a soap where their build cars. The british shows are about the cars and the owners - and that's how it's supposed to be.
Since this is an older production it contains nothing new in terms of footage and/or content. And every episode is only a bit over 20 min long so it's a bit superfical. But with the amount of eye witness accounts, not only from american pilots, this still is worth watching.
I like a lot of the shows mentioned but is that supposed to be funny? Cause I don't think it is.
There aren't many documentations that show the history of aviation from the russian side. Therefore this one is highly recommended if you are interested in that topic. Great original footage from the beginning up to the 21st century.
Shoot me, but I still think it´s the best comedy out there.
Watched the first episodes of season 9. Well, they didn't re-invent the wheel - it's 24. And if you liked it before you probably like it again. Storylines in general are as usual but for me it feels cheaper than before production wise. Looks like a lot less money went into it.
They should have stopped after Season 8 the last two were really bad and in my eyes pulled the whole series down a bit. Still up to that point it's a great show and I really enjoied it.
I'm very interested in the history and strategy of war. I just don't get it why History Channel always has to re-enact everything and use flashy graphics and soundtracks.
The pictures of the wreck are amazing and they reveal what really happened back then. But overall it's too Hollywood for a serious documentation.
A lot of people told me this is a bad movie. After finally seeing it I can't understand why? Yeah the characters are flat and the plot is foreseeable but that's almost a given in theese movies. So this is about the action and in that regard I fail to see while this was worst than others of this genre.
So get a beer and snacks and enjoy it.
I love this show. Don't know if it is scientificly sound like someone mentioned but it gives me a lot to think and discuss about and that's made it worth watching.
Yeah, it's kind of funny, plots are thin and acting isn't that good. There are no supervillans, but hey, we're talking late 70s TV here and I loved this show as a kid. And it's the first live-action Spidey so it's kind of a classic.
I'm not looking for a deep, logical story in those kind of movies. You have to know what to expect and in that regard they deliver.
BUT.....please, no more of those stupid jokes and those slapstick-like Transformers.
Christopher Reeve will always be the the original Superman but this was the best Superman movie I've seen.
Had my doubts about it at first but they were literally blown away while watching. And while I wouldn't go as far as saying this will become a legendary movie it is great and entertaining. I hope they can build on this and deliver a equally good sequel.

Sure looks beautiful and despite what some others said I think the soundtrack fits the picture well. It's that kind of movie that you might not regret seeing but won't see again.
Personally I prefer Olympus on all accounts. Sure it's a matter of taste but I´m not seeing one area where this was the better movie.
Visually nice to watch but besides that it doens´t have much to go for it. You know how the story will end. And it´s not suited for younger children it has a bit too much violence. And I doubt teens might fall for a fairy tale.
I think the final season was weak. The plot was constructed just to fit some needs. It had strong moments but they should not have started another arc.
Nevertheless I really liked this show. Has a bit of everything, Action, drama, lovestory, fun.
It's a bit like Thomas Magnum, Jack Bauer and a bit of McGyver.
Boring. Loosely cut together crap with little content in poor VHS quality.
Even as a longttime NASCAR fan I could not stand to watch this.
If you already know the NASA History you will find nothing new. But the picture material that is used in this documentation is awesome and the quality is stunning.
Therefore I highly recommend watching this if you're interested in this subject.

Like most others said there are a lot of comparisons to "Die Hard". This movie does not reach the first of the "Die Hard" series but let's be honest, the last two weren't that good either.
That beeing said I would recommend Olympus if you're looking for a couple of hours to keep your mind of, don't analyse it to death. Like a lot of other action movies it can't hold a lot of water.
If you already know the history of Formula 1 this will propably tell you nothing new. If you only know F1 from its modern days whatch this.
In any case this is the best documentary about F1 that I've seen so far. The pictures together with the soundtrack are awesome. Mixed with quotes from former drivers gives you an insight how it was and what it meant to be a race drive in the 60's and 70's
Yes, this has no Hollywood-like CGI, then again it didn't had a Hollywood budget. But it's fun too see some of the old Star Trek cast again.
Well, it´s Fast & Furious. You know what to expect when you read the title. And it delivers.
Absolutely unrealistic and over the top action movie. LOVE IT!!!!

Feels a bit like Dallas or Denver Clan only a couple hundred years back. I don`t mind the fact that it´s not historical sound because it never claimed to be in the first place. It´s good entertainment.
One thing that is a bit disturbing production wise is that while some people in the series are getting older quite normal (especially the children), which suggest the time that has passed, it is not reflected in the appearance of the main characters as much.
