Oh hi trakt
So for 3 hours of film, we get no more than 10 minutes of sci-fi and everything else is just stupid, boring, annoying human drama with silence and stares into nothingness. This show is not about aliens, it's about cheating husbands, lesbians, school bullies, soldiers far from home, and religious morons. It is so suitable for this network. They did the same thing with "Foundation". A good plot with a big budget, a good cast, and a big pile of rotting crap beneath all of it. It's just like an Apple product.
Visually impressive. Nothing else is though.
Tries hard to be deeper than it is.
Amazing acting, great action scenes, good movie, but I didn't like the protagonist, he was no antihero, only a villain. This movie was fun to watch but definitely not a masterpiece despite it being a classic in the film industry. I found the character Tony Montana to be a complete idiot, yes, he has courage but his decisions make no sense. I know this movie isn't trying to be realistic but an idiot like Tony Montana would never get as up in the world in real life. He has none of the characteristics that make a great leader except for scaring the hell out of everyone around him. In the end I can only give this a 7/10.
Lovecraftian horror, with a little bit of Clive Barker thrown in, this isn't a bad film, just a little messy at times. In a world of cookie-cutter horror, this is trying to be something a little bit different. With a little more fleshing out of the mythos at the core, this would have been a better film.
For someone who was born in 2001 and not being able to watch Matrix in theaters this movie has a special meaning to me.
Edit: Never mind this was film was a piece of crap
More of a thriller than horror but it's great. Elisabeth Moss is really good at playing an unstable woman. The action is awesome and shot well. The plot has a few shocking moments.
They should have made one episode out of the first three with less family melodrama and maybe it would have been less of a snoozefest.
Be warned Midsommar is not a horror movie, it's an art film covered in a thin veneer of gore. It is not scary, it's not frightening, just long with a few gross-out gore scenes sprinkled in.
The movie spends most of its run time showing you scenes of people eating, drinking or singing. These are really pretty scenes mind you, the cinematography is on point, but they are also excruciatingly long. The movie could easily be trimmed by 30 minutes without affecting the barebones plot at all.
The horror element is supposed to be the cult rituals but most of them were so absurd that I and the rest of the (few) people in the theater laughed instead. There was especially one scene with a bunch of nude older women that was downright hilarious, although I very much doubt that was the intent.
If singing Swedish people frightens you then this is a must watch, otherwise don't bother.
The real curse is having to watch this show.
This was actually a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I enjoyed it enough to not feel it was a waste of time and the jump scares got me good. Also, I love it when the moral of the story is "even if you don't believe in the paranormal, don't be disrespectful about it you dumb b*tch" because that's an important message.
I was excited they finally released the Season 3 of Master of None but after watching 2 full episodes and starting the 3rd I'll just stop.
This ain't Master of None. WTH?! Bring Aziz back! Very disappointed with this one.
Any more pretentious and it would have an art degree.
Don't waste your time
I meeean...
It was unsettling and gross. But scary? There's nothing scary about this movie. Mainly, the only creepy thing is the dissonant string music. I like horror movies, but more of the subtle, psychological kind. This one was too artsy and pretentious for me.
I guess the takeaway is don't consume weird shit strangers give you. Also, stay away from cults.
This is the worst season of True Detective. First two were 10 out of 10 for me, but this one...
I can say only 1 thing: if you have trouble sleeping - this season (any episode) will resolve it immediately.
Just watch first episode and last one, you won't miss a thing.
Cool Concept, too bad the show kinda sucks.
Genuinely good! And considering the limited technology used, this was very unnerving. I haven't seen a good horror movie in a long time, but this changed that. I shall not be using Zoom in the near future!
A big piece of shit, if it had a negative note I would give it.
Pretty damn good for what it is. Jump scares were a nice mix of actual scares versus misdirection scares.
This show is one hell of a contraceptive.
Liked how they went about introducing it but the actual new voice is not really working for me
It's a horrible film. Please don't watch it unless you like horror cult movies that just suck the happiness from you. Not worth the watch. Watch better movies instead.
If you went to the bargain bin of a roadside truckstop in the middle of nowhere and found a cheap knockoff sci-fi DVD called "I can't believe it isn't Armageddon" this is exactly the movie I'd expect to find on there. Chinese money in a The Asylum style production that make Syfy TV movies look good. Good for a one time watch provided you leave any actual science outside.
The photograph is great and the pace has a lot to do as the way the story is being told, unfortunately they tried to tell too much and ended up feeling a little bit overwhelming
This was so awful it was almost physically painful to suffer through.
The only thing keeping my attention is that is was all so completely absurd that it was unintentionally funny, I have never laughed so much at at horror film in my life and there is not one intentional joke in there.
Watching Pugh give a classy performance throughout this train wreck of a script was like watching a gold medallist swimming through a septic tank.
The fact that they shot most of the film in Hungary would explain the fact that they managed to fuck up any and all reference to Swedish culture and traditions as they could have asked a five year old about some of the things if it'd been actually shot in Sweden.
But shame on me for getting to the point that I didn't think it could get any more ridiculous or stupid because enter blood-sacrifice bingo stage left.
1/10. Have been more scared by Shaun the Sheep episodes.
Most of the first episode was almost unwatchable. I was disinterested in the characters.
