Wonderful show partially weighed down by more of modern pc bs.

@donpalomono I don't really get this viewpoint (and I've heard it before). I think the female characters existence in the story make the show more interesting. In my opinion it would be weirder if the show just glossed over women joining the astronaut program and pretended like it wouldn't be a big deal. I don't think they overdid it, they told the story and showcased how such a situation might have played out in the 60s-70s and then moved on fairly quickly to focus on other stories with all the astronauts doing their jobs.

VIP5Honestly, I'm really surprised TRAKT fans gave this show a 58% rating. In truth, I think we can all agree that this show was freakin' horrible. This was so disappointing, because I think this was the first major comic book LGBT character. This brings me back to why I almost never watch LGBT movies. Either the actors aren't talented enough, or the scripts are just straight up awful!!! However, in this case Ruby Rose is a decent actress, but, my opinion remains the same, she would have made a better Robin than a Bat Woman. They really played up on heavy stereotypes that even I as a gay man found off-putting. We have to do better with LGBT content. Please!!! This show felt way too amateurish. I might as well had digged up my old Adam West VHS tapes and watched that instead.

@cinematicthrowbacks I suspect there are a lot of people rating this as 10/10 just bc it is LGBTQ+ focused.
So tired of this me too movement. Just because there is a batman doesn't necessarily mean there must a batwoman. What are the air dates for CatMan and Wonder Man? I only watched the trailer and knew this was trash.
loading replies
@breezytm You do realize, that Batwoman is a DC Character which existed for decades before the show?
I hate this show as well, but the character is way older than the metoo movement (which the show actually didn't have anything to do with, since the metoo movement is about rape and sexual assault)
I've been hooked from the start.
I also find the comments that Batwoman is forced diversity and why is she a lesbian! funny because Batwoman has been around for a while and has always been a lesbian.
loading replies
@bandgrad2008 No one gives a shit about Batwoman (or Kate Keen to be more exact) being a lesbian.Well, some ppl are angry bc Ruby Rose is bisexual and is playing a Lesbian - I personally don't give a crap.
What is annoying as hell though is the fact, that the Batwoman in this show constantly needed to affirm her strength by putting down men - and I mean figuratively, not literally.
The Batsuit comment was just the tip of the Iceberg.
It might have changed, since I stopped watching some time ago - but I doubt it.
There are plently of shows with gay characters in them which are beloved. Those shows have one thing in common: They show us the human being and the story is the focus.
Here they put together a story which can be told in 5 minutes, so they can shove 40 minutes of propaganda down our throat.
And yes, I am annoyed when I am told that I am worth less, because my reproductive organs are on the outside.
The comments putting men down would cause a riot if they were reversed.
Make strong female characters (gay, bi, straight - I don't care) and I am in.
Make weak female characters who need to put down the other sex to appear strong: I'm out.
So tired of this me too movement. Just because there is a batman doesn't necessarily mean there must a batwoman. What are the air dates for CatMan and Wonder Man? I only watched the trailer and knew this was trash.

@breezytm I get your point, but Batwoman is already an established character in the comics (and MUCH better in the comics). Catman already exists, too. And if we look hard enough, I'm sure there was a Wonder Man at one point...

@sopherian The funny thing is, that I didn't even pick up on how stupid that line was, as its harder to find good lines in this show than bad ones...
Imagine the outcry if someone took Wonderwomans Suit, demanded it to be retrofitted to fit a man and said: "It will be perfect when it fits a man".
Very disappointing show. The drama is so bad, it's melodrama. One would wonder why this kind of TV show gets out, with poor sci-fi, poor drama, poor writing.

@pjconnect I don't know what show you watched it couldn't have been raising dion lol.
Great show through first 2 seasons, but that remains to be seen in the future with the removal of Clayne Crawford. It won't be the same.
loading replies
@buzzmant I'm pretty sure I won't watch it. The show ended for me.
WTH happened to Clayne Crawford?
loading replies
@nebthet he was awesome at his job, he practically was all the show and carried all the crap on his back and made it look good with his performance, would be entitled to be an asshole, but by Wayans Twitter implosion with absolutely no comment from Crawford I'm pretty sure he isn't one.
I don't mean to cast shade, if you love this show, good on you. But in the spirit of democracy, I must say the pilot episode was for me, a special "white rice on white bread with a glass of water"kind of bland. I wished for more as I think society does need a good parable to remember that immigration has always been an extremely positive part of human development across the millennia. The current culture of immigration phobia exhibited by some folks is simply ignorant and uninformed. And ultra ironic coming from Americans...
That said, I find it sad that conventional US broadcast corporations like ABC are probably just not capable of making content which is artistic and fresh, given the risk it would present to corporate interests. They instead study your purchased facebook data, cynically calculate and subdivide demographics with scalpels, and double check their ROI calculus to ensure profits are maximized as they package up the population and sell it to other corporate advertisers. I suspect that is how this show was written. It's how all ABC shows are written.

@callmetrimtab Or it's a sci-fi show. It's possible to watch this without looking for or engaging in social commentary. That's my plan anyway.
Looks like a copy of spanish's Ministerio del Tiempo. In fact, its showrunner has taken it to the courts.

"Looks like a copy of spanish's Ministerio del Tiempo"
It clearly is based on the same idea.
... so? So is literally every show.
FYI, the concept for Ministerio del Tiempo is not original either. The story is taken — something which the Spanish admitted to themselves — from yet another show.
What IS sad is that the spanish network responsible for MtD is acting like SONY stole it from them when they themselves have been doing the very same thing with their shows. It's even more saddening — and disturbing — that people act like hunting dogs. They too are victims of somebody's mischievous agenda. It's clear as the sky on a sunny day that Ministerio del Tiempo is not an original; I wish SONY good luck in court.
Yes, there are rumors SONY was in fact working on an adaption together with the guys from MdT and that they didn't reach an agreement, but even if that was true... going to court looks like a bad PR stunt. I'm not saying SONY did right but I hope it backfires on the Spanish... because they deserve it, because taking it to court is ironic coming from somebody who's done the same thing.
That being sad, the show is really good. Try it! ^ .^
Boring, dull, nonsense show. I'm not a person who give up on a show and so in worst scenario I try to finish the season so after the first f***ing season I gave up. Netflix attracts people with sexual scenes. I wonder How boring a show could be! Worst ever! This is not a show, this is felony.
loading replies
@asdoost felony???? I get that everyone have their own taste and it's normal not everyone likes the same things. But I don't know, you have to admit the plot it's pretty complex, even if you don't like it.
Also, what? "Netflix attracts people with sexual scenes"??? Idk man, you say it like it's the main plot point and the only and ever show/movie with a sex scene on it. When I think about Sense8 I don't think "Sex!", I think "Wow, how a person can have 7 other people linked with their mind? How that even work?"
And again, "felony"???????
