I was waiting for its return. Very light return expected more. Sure it opened new ideas with that boy but i really cannot understand the rope how on earth did that guy chained on the wall managed to through a rope to the well
CW caliber acting/writing. Stargate SG-1 caliber sets. Comic-con caliber make-up/costuming.
...and some of the dumbest Jedi ever...
As I can see, your list is the only one that properly tracks all upcoming movies. But there are too many horror movies with disturbing posters on your list. It would be great if you could make a separate list of movies in horror genre and make the main 'Upcoming Anticipated Movies' list that appear under other movies outside of this genre more attractive. Thanks:thumbsup:
That was a convenient way to solve the Darksaber issue. A bit too convenient if you'd ask me. But those final scenes couldn't safe the episode from basically just being a constructed, unessessary and boring sub plot to provide guest roles for some well known names. And they were not even great characters. With only eight episodes per season they really should not waste time on those things.
The one question this episode raised for me is: could have been Mandalorians that freed Gideon after all if so many of them became mercenaries ?
Jeez, the snowflaky reactions of straight white men because not every single episode and narrative centres them - anything deviating from that priority is apparently "woke". Get over yourselves, you egomaniacal bigots.
Anyway, another great episode that nicely expanded Ellie's backstory - bonus points for the Mortal Kombat II appreciation, too :nerd:
That was kind of a letdown as a season finale. It only serves to prevent the destruction of Homelander for at least another season and I fear we get a repetition of season three "How to kill Homelander". I get it, he's a show favorite but it's just unimaginative. And what happens if Butcher is in the same situation, facing Ryan and Homelander, at the end of season 4 ? How do we get to a point where he either can accept he has to destroy Ryan to or for the latter to switch sides ?
But we then still have Soldier Boy. And there is the same problem arising. How can he come back with a different outcome then now ? Like I said, we just put in multiple twist to lengthen the story.
And at this very moment I don't like it.
A really phenomenal episode, and another example of a show that's surpassed it's predecessor, but will never get the credit for it. Week after week this show produces solid episodes as people whine and complain they don't know where it's going or why they're watching, just stop watching and we'll all be happier not reading you complaining.
As someone who's father left, this episode really hit me just like the last one did as someone who lost a child. This show takes risks and is telling great stories abour real issues that impact real people compared to the original series following some stupid comic in endless war cycles that also should've ended long before it did, and I'm glad I chose to continue watching it despite it's slow start.
Went in blind as recommended by @Acoucalancha and consider me surprised, halfway through the movie I kind of had an idea that this movie will be one of those that will fall into place beautifully, and it did, the execution was so beautifully handled. I was thoroughly engaged throughout the movie, the premise was interesting and the lead actress gave a convincing performance. It's not without flaws like the messy CGI which is not a big problem assuming this probably a low budget horror.
Highly recommend to go in blind.
Awesome job… if only you had separate lists for tv show and movies when they are released for streaming it would be better. That way if a movie leaves this list I know exactly where it has gone
While I appreciate the themes posed in the first half about assimilation and the struggles of connecting with a culture you're both from but not connected to at all, It Lives Inside decides to squander this deep and interesting angle in favour of the most cookie cutter horror tropes and scares imaginable. Unable to fully throw its punches due to a very restrictive PG-13 rating, It Lives Inside drops back to a level of mediocrity which is almost insulting given the promise it sets out the gate. I think they really could have had something special here, a monster from a seldom represented culture in the horror space, with an underlying message about the pressures of first generation immigrants in their respective new homeland, attempting to both adhere to the expectations of the place they're growing up, while also trying to connect with the culture and customs of their parents. A shame really, sometimes knowing that something could have been great is worse than it just being bad, and I truly think It Lives Inside could have been special.
Oddly enough, as opposed to the anime/manga, I feel that the show is moving too fast, not building characters and their relationships properly, which kinda ruins things for me a little bit.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to meet the rest of the crew and the whole bunch of whacky evil pirates they'll bump into!
That was an amazing run, and a stellar final scene. If this doesn't come back for a second season, it's downright criminal. Kudos to all involved.
01x08 - The Key: 8/10 (Great)
“What we know is a drop. What we don’t know is an ocean”
Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese have created another excellent science fiction show, although “1899” differs greatly from their past efforts. The big reveal at the end was precisely what I suspected and the most logical explanation. Although the mystery has been revealed to some extent, I have no doubt that Season 2 will also surprise us in many more ways. Akin to Inception's dream within a dream, I suspect the spaceship is only another simulation. While I can understand why some people may be disappointed by the finale, anybody familiar with this duo would know that they are saving their biggest reveal for later. All the pieces are in place for an epic season two, so a round of applause to everyone involved in developing this show; I, for one, cannot wait for what is next.
01x06 - The Pyramid 8.4/10 (Great)
I’m at a loss for words; my brain must be having a laugh. The story was already confusing, but that final image of a ship graveyard was chilling and added even more mystery. Honestly, this could go in any direction, and that’s why it has me hooked. The strange boy is probably Maura and Daniel’s son. The environment can be controlled, so it’s possible that the ocean is not real. The words “Remember” and “Wake up” keep coming back, and all the manuals contain the same platitude: “May your coffee kick in, before reality does.” Strong indications that it is a simulation raise the question of why, if this is a sim, it is limited to the confines of the ship. What’s happening is getting crazier by the minute!
That was a good ending at least.
Great first episode,it's crazy what Dahmer was getting away with, imagine living next door to a monster like that.
He's back ! Vader enters the picture and immediately the heat is literally turned up. One shot, one breath of him has more weight as ten minutes from the Third Sister.
I had not imagined that him and Obi-Wan would meet that early. And now we have the question of continuity. There has to be another meeting because that one could not have been what Vader was describing in Ep IV (with Obi-Wan being the Master and he the apprentice). Yes, those things matter to me. But as one-sided as the duel here was it had me on the edge of my seat. The lightsabers in the dark, the musical score, Vaders voice - that was an amazing sequence.
How on earth did Reva get past Leia ? There is one tunnel leading to where the pilot was waiting and she had to pass Leia to get there first. Yet she was there waiting, the pilot already dead.
All in all by far the best episode. Obi-Wan talking about Padme and his memories of his own family was another great scene.
Now I'm hyped.
This is bound to be divisive, and I can see it getting a cult following in the future.
It plays out a lot like an Edgar Wright movie, starting as one movie and slowly morphing into another.
I personally liked it a lot, I found it very inspired and creative from a story perspective.
It has a great character at the center, some really unpredictable twists, it delivers the scares and gore you want, terrific visuals (Wan’s trademark camerawork is here) and good music (there is a subtle song reference that’s actually kinda brilliant).
It’s not perfect though: the acting can sometimes be a little wonky, there’s too much unneeded exposition, and the tone can occasionally get a little campy, which doesn’t always work.
Still, you have to respect James Wan for bringing creative and fresh ideas into a genre that has continued to give us the same shit over and over again.
6/10

Fantastic episode.
This is it folks, this is peak television. What we have here is one of the most gut wrenching and masterfully crafted episodes ever brought to screen. Absolutely fucking phenomenal with career best performances from Murray Bartlett and Nick Oferman. Holy shit this will stick with me.
Not sure where I stand on the part that Butcher can now become a Supe for a day. It obviously makes him what he hates the most abd i think it's a little to obvious to play that card. On the other hand, that last scene - I guess things just started.
Another brilliant performance by Starr who's leaving the rest of the cast behind.
Anybody catch that blink and you'll miss it moment when the lights went off? The filter on the screens turned off and you could see the green grass, for just a split second. Wonder if anybody in the Silo noticed it.
