I’m starting to wonder why I’m watching a show that is designed for children.

@ausxor you mean star wars? yes of course it's for children. it's still good.
MODERATION EDIT: Respect other users.
Is this episode written by 16 years old?
This episode wanted to be Seven Samurai but ended up as that terrible The Walking Dead episode where everyone gets slaughtered (they're not though in Mandalorian, since this is a Disney series).
There is no development and no build up at all in this episode. Like the previous episode, everything is self-contained. All are introduced and resolved in this same episode. A lot of things happened in this episode but nothing actually contributes to the plot - except for exposition dump.
The bandit raid is a terribly weak, villain of the week setup. They just show up as some evil nuisances - no motives, no goals at all. The Mando teams up with an ex-rebel, which debunks a tired cliche, but at this point this feels like a try-hard attempt to make The Mando as a morally righteous hero. There is a half-assed attempts at romance here, but it feels forced as it happens so sudden. Despite being self-contained (or maybe because it is) the episode lacks closure by the end, and the nifty little scene regarding one stray bounty hunter seems like something that appears just because they still have several episodes to go.
The dialogues are terrible: it's a tonne of exposition dumps. I don't have any idea why the writers think it makes sense for the characters to suddenly ask a stranger, "when was your last time you open your helmet?" and, in return, open up a heart-to-heart "hey I got a tragic story" past to a stranger. The banters with Gina Carano's character is okay, but it feels like they have to slip backstory every now and then. As if they're not having a real, human conversation. Every dialogue feels so forced and hurried as if they have to make it fit into this episode.
Also, it seems like they have no idea what an AT-ST is. It's a vehicle, not a droid.

@xaliber Seems like you should just stop watching
We’re haters if we don’t act like this is the best episode, probably. But Supergirls preachy episodes aren’t when it is the most watchable. I am sure more are coming though. Since Melissa Benoist is pregnant.
They’ll probably bring James back too and have another lesson about racism. People watch shows to escape from reality. Not be reminded of it constantly.

@jim222001 I also watch tv shows to escape from reality, but I‘m still glad the writers talk about transphobia, especially with Nicole Maines in the cast.
Side plots of characters I'm so not interested in...Also Teddy is bi? I just don't see it.

@dewdropvelvet I think Kim Raver sold the hell out of it but objectively speaking it did come completely out of nowhere. Annoyingly, I can see her bisexuality almost never being mentioned again, making it all the more pointless.
I don't like Sansa - of course she would betray her brother's (ok, cousin's) trust and blab his secret to everyone - but now I don't like Daenerys either. Damn, would she sit down and wait for her army to heal and recuperate? She's gotten increasingly ruthless in the past couple of seasons. It would indeed be a decent strategy if Jon and Daenerys would marry and just rule together, but I don't think that's going to happen now. They killed off Rhaegal, so that's gotta foreshadow something - that there will only be one Targaryen left standing at the end of the series.
Also, poor Ghost. Leaving him to the North definitely signalled Jon's gradual departure from the Stark family and gradual acceptance of his Targaryen heritage. So sad to see him react to Jon like that.
loading replies
@rikaylaI have the feeling she will be killed off and Jon would become the King of the Seven Kingdoms and everybody would love him. It seems like the writers are gradually making her, let's say, unlikeable thus getting ready to get rid of her. I wonder what would happen to the last dragon.

1. how else would an army of horse riders fight if not in open field? would you put them on the walls?
2. the blizzard inhibited their visibility so they couldn't just blast away freely without hitting friendlies... and they were far from useless, it looked to me like they were doing plenty of damage before the storm... until that undead dragon appeared and had to be dealt with...
3+4. that was purely Arya's moment... the girl had to show off her sneaking skills, there's nothing wrong with that...
5. did you see her tackle those zombies in the library?
6. there are few characters left as it is... anymore and the show would've ended next week...
next time you think you're smart or special remember you're nothing compared to the people who worked to produce this series...

VIP6Pike saved Octavia more than once to try and redeem himself. Warrior Princess wannabe had to kill him anyway. She f'd one grounder so that makes her Xena ?
Solid episode nevertheless.loading replies
Im happy that she killed him lol u cant redeem urself for killing someone
im not seeing anyone making death threats to writers or crying and downvoting because Sinclair died, but its ok, he wasnt gay so he is unimportant and it doesent matter if he dies
i love Miller and i loved Lexa, but Lexa died to move the plot foward not because the writers thought "oh lets kill Lexa because she is gay haha so funny"
how many main characters have died? more than 10 for sure, so why we only focus on the gay one? gay characters are unkillable? for me they are the same as any character i dont make distinctions and neither the writers

hahaha is very funny indeed killing a strong lesbian character who represents a minority who doesnt have representation at all in tv these days. they develop a very important character to kill her in a shitty/clumsy way. but you do know that, right? bc you are a male so you do understand the struggle of being a queer woman right? oh and let me finish talking about linconl's death another minority character, a strong black male who died in the dirty, literaly.
they are killing minorities, not just in the 100, hollywood is doing it for a long time and we are raging for it to change, if you are not pleasent by it get your mouth shut and let us raise our voices and fight for what we believe and deserve for: RESPECT.
a episode isnt bad because a character died, fu*k people who is downvoting here and IMBD because of Lexa's death, it was vital to move the plot foward, there was no other way and Lincoln died, yes, but we dont know the repercusions is going to have
also characthers die all the time in shows like this, get over it its FICTION, chill and enjoy the plot please.
edit: WTF with people harassing writers and producers of the show? the fanbase is disgusting

The writers of this season arent bad because they killed of Lexa in one episode, they are bad because they basically reduced her character to a plot device to make Clark seem useful in the show for 5 (kinda like the word Wanheda was for the first few). They are bad because they want the viewers to believe that Pike got elected based on his laughable hate-speeches. They are bad because... well....Bellamy.
But yes the show has been increasing in quality since ep 7 so i guess they might have seen the error of their ways, or hired new writers.
Remember that meme of Jiggly Caliente? That was me all the episode! I love Jayda but she was my third pick out of three... How many robberies are going to happen in this show, huh?

@david0542 I've been cheering for Gigi for many episodes and I thought she did better than the other two at the first two lipsyncs but at the last one Jaida was the best. Gigi just did her signature moves, relying on the face and hands, Crystal looked beautiful but didn't really shine but it felt like Jaida put it all in.
terrible acting, it's atrocious, pls end this show

VIP4It is great, but Din Djarin really became the weakest character on the show, he didn’t win a single fight this season and that hurts me
loading replies
he didn’t win a single fight this season
He defeated the croco-turtle, the cave dwellers, the pirates (twice), a number of TIE Fighters, the pterodactyl (with help), a really angry Dr. Ball...
Just because he's no longer the singular focus of the series doesn't mean he's been completely defanged. If he won everything, he wouldn't be an interesting character. He's not Rey Skywalker, he's an orphaned single father with PTSD and anger management issues (and a bit of a Droid racist).
Review by Marc Friedolin
VIP6The fight scene in the toyshop is the worst fight I've seen since my childhood.
He literally turned and held the knife to his own throat for about a second allowing the other character to grab his hand. Additionally the Nazis are portraied like pure monsters without any real world applicable intelligence.
Instead of trying to scheme their way out of a jam, they just kill everyone near them.Thats just plain stupid - yes, real world Nazis did stuff like that, but they already had a tremendous amount of power and support by then.
Here it is the 70ies - thats when american companies refused to work with german companies because the CEOs had friends who died in the war.
The NASA Scientist in the gas chamber is a nice touch - although stupid, she could have easily survived breathing through the crack or using her not insignificant body-weight to break the glass.
I broke glass like that by accident when I was sick and fainted back when I was 14 and I was a lightweight.
She might still have died, but her efforts lack realism. So far it looks like the show can't decide if it wants to be taken serious or not and hangs somewhere in the middle making it just look idiotic.
Sadly I'm a sucker for Nazis getting killed on TV, so I'll probably continue to watch anyway.loading replies

Boo hoo. Some of us like our TV shows to have some depth and not just be escapism.
So I suppose they don't hire brazillians actors to play an actual brazillian citizen lol that accent was terrible tbh

@alexdanvers Rodrigo Santoro will be damned. If only he could have another face.
I'm almost certain I've seen the whole cobalt poisoning hip replacement thing in some other show before. House, maybe?
For a season finale this episode was profoundly underwhelming. The whole season was pretty meh TBH.

@abtr Remember, this wasn't supposed to be the season finale. They cut the season short when they had to stop filming due to COVID-19 precautions. There was supposed to be another 2-4 episodes coming this season.
Ah yes, the old suck sunlight out plants trick.

@cacione It's a reference to the Dark Knight Returns where the earth sacrificed a rain forest to keep Superman alive. But instead of overwrought poetry we have Alex begging Kara to "take the grass!"
Alex' coming out was so pure/real and important fml. Yes straight ppl this is how you develop a gay character. That storyline is real as fuck IT HAPPENS IN THE FUCKING REAL LIFE so get over the "the writers just want to please the gays or can the writers stop writing stories that have nothing to do with their sexual preference?". We need/deserve this rep. And finally, i'm so glad the writers pulled this off i'm really looking forward to see maggie falling for alex ahhhhh fuck

@alexdanvers I haven't seen any haters comment on Alex, but I'm sure they're out there. As a straight person, I really like Alex's storyline. Humanizing what it might be like to come out as opposed to just making the character gay to check a box so to speak. The confusion/pain makes her character so much more interesting than the 1-dimensional first season version.

@alexdanvers I agree with everything you said! Representation is so important and this is the most well-written, accurate coming out storyline I've ever seen. I don't understand people complaining that there's too much focus on Alex's or Maggie's sexual orientation. Like??? There's always a lot of focus on straight characters' orientation and relationships but if a character's gay then suddenly it's a problem? Fuck that. This storyline is so important and I can't wait to see where it goes.

They have a good team with Constantine and the others, why do they need to add Sara's gf to the mix too? A bit too goofy this season.

Six bad to mediocre episodes in a row. The writers must be having a blow.

It's totally okey to kill off characters. I just don't like how they're progressing with it and the story in general.
Now that's how to do a mid season ending. Agents Of Shield cough cough
loading replies
I rate Agents Of Shield over Arrow but you love need a reality check on this one.
Writing is absolutely trash. After first 10 minutes of fellowship of the ring I felt more attached to Gandalf and Frodo than I do with any of the characters in this show after 7+ hours. Even the cgi is below average. To save this show they need to bring better writers onboard for season 2.

@alexdanvers The weirdest part was that it's clear as day that the mics of the show would have had the T but none of it was revealed and the fake tension had to be created.

@chuchitzu I think for the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover.
OK REAL TALK. It's getting irritating how everyone is always finding excuses for Owen's actions and behavior since his day one on the series. And I have been one of those people for such a long time, which is why I used to like that guy. But recently (few seasons ago actually) I've started to believe that maybe he's just not a good person underneath it all. And I no longer can stomach anyone who tries to blame his shit decision making and apathy towards others on his past. There. I said it.

@khawlah I agree!
up until maybe a season or two ago i was rooting for him but now i just can't stand him. with every love interest he gets worse and worse and somehow it's never his fault and it's always on someone else. I hope to gods teddy doesn't get back together with him because she honestly deserves so much better.
