Interesting episode. I especially liked how it deepened the relationship between Daria and Quinn a little. They're always going to be a little antagonistic, but there's a base level caring for each other that works in moments like when Quinn tells Daria she wants her to come to the Plastic Surgery center because she's honest, and when Daria helps Quinn feel better about her looks. There was also some quality Daria and Jane snarki going on which I liked. The satire of plastic surgery pressures on young girls wasn't as incisive as the show usually is, though maybe that's just because it's low-hanging fruit.
Lucifer should just video himself being indestructible and email that to Chloe for proof.
The “almost showing the detective” thing is getting old!
Quite disappointed with the movie, some of the dialogues seem stupid, and the rhythm of the movie is so slow... Many people are saying that this movie is perfect, but what I see is a failed attempt of a homorromantic movie that lays in clichés and high class lifestyle that bores me to death. Also, the apricot scene is between awkward and disgusting. Otherwise, at least the soundtrack is very interesting.
A bad attempt on what could have been an unforgettable summer love story. "Call Me by Your Name" fails in every aspect of It. It's dull, empty and forced.
From beginning to end there's no exploration of any kind. The characters don't have the depth they should have which makes the love story lacking dynamism and vivacity.
The first part of the movie is tedious and uninteresting. An hour of unnecessary scenes, that could easily be cut out, with brief dialogs of direct questions/answers, without emotions or sensibility from any character. A missed opportunity to invest in the character denseness and build their relationship. The movie doesn't give enough space for the sensations and attraction between them to evolve and, with that, we end up not caring, at all, with their bonding. All we see is a shallow relationship based, purely, in sexual encounters.
Less is more so it would have been great to see that. Less scenes, less scenarios and less dull actions and conversations. It's a movie that should concentrate merely in the connection between them and not on how beautiful the background is or how kind and aware Elio's parents are. The minor characters are completely pointless and don't bring absolutely nothing to the film.
The only positive aspect is Timothée Chalamat, In the second part of the film. He really pushes Elio's character and ends up with a very solid and strong performance. The ending shot was absolutely breathtaking. Apart from Timothée's acting, Sufjan Stevens enhanced this scene with "Mistery of Love", making one of the best ending scenes of the year. Undeniably, he deserves to win Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards.
Well, I gave it a fair try. I didn't think I'd like this story/film and I didn't. A young sexually inexperienced boy and an older grad student. For me the inequalities of experience, maturity and attraction bordered on child abuse and, although the boy was the aggressor, the adult should have maintained boundaries and trust. It was too uncomfortable for me and was anything but a love story. I know I am expressing a minority opinion (it has been nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay) but I rate it a 3 (bad) out of 10. There was nothing commendable about this movie to me with the exception of the location, which was strikingly beautiful, and the soundtrack, which was perfectly matched to the internal thoughts of the characters. [Drama]
I liked the ending. It was a proper closure to an in my opinion awesome show, I'm happy with the way everything turned out.
I'd definitely recommend watching this show, I enjoyed it a lot. And how awesome was the antagonist (Ryan) in the last few episodes?
Such a great episode, I have no words for this! Helen and Gabe are so interesting - alone and as a couple. And the creepy FBI guy also gets more interesting and complex each episode. I'm sad there is only one episode left.
I BET YALL RYAN IS GONNA THROW LUKAS IN WATER OR SOMETHING AND THEN PHILLIP CANT GO SAVE HIM AND ITS ALL GONNA BE AGONY AND SHIT THIS WAS A GODDAMN FORESHADOWING
my comment from last episode. im fucking psychic
That FBI agent is making me damn nervous.
Finally Lukas is not a complete asshole anymore. He was so annoying until now! He still has a lot of work to do if he wants to make it up to Philip (and everyone else, because he behaved like a total douche), but at least it looks like he is trying now.
How can Lukas be so self-centered? Philip deserves better.
you know the world is a fucking disaster when its easier to tell your dad you got a girl pregnant and you stole his stuff and sold it for her to get an abortion than to tell him youre gay smh
wow wHATT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENEd
That ending has effectively killed me LOL.
This episode was so sad. The kid actor is really doing a great job.
Alright, I have to admit that I'm REALLY enjoying this show...
I love these type shows. House, Bones, Scorpion...shows depicting genius type IQ in lower "E.Q." circumstances. Great pilot!
I enjoyed the last episode and was happy to see Oga and Kariyu get together, but it was painful to see Kaizaki and Hishiro get SO close to ending up together, but not quite. I do get why they did this and it does show that Kaizaki is doing the noble thing by not taking advantage of (as far as he knows) a high school girl, but god did I want their supporters to step in and let them know.
I suppose you can just hope that when their ReLIFE period comes to end they maybe to find out about each other, as there was clearly an attraction there.
Still, overall I really enjoyed this series. I had to slow myself down or I could have easily binged the whole thing in one night. It would be interesting to see if they start showing more anime in this format, since Netflix et al are doing it more often these days too.
This fucking episode, man might be the best ever. I'm literally speechless.
So layered, so many call backs to real life politics. Rick/Morty analogues for racerelations. Equal Pay, Globalisation of companies. That whole wafer storyline. Fuck. I need to watch this again. No wonder they gave us two weeks to wait for this. So fucking worth it.
Loved the trip down memory lane. Without a doubt one of the series' strongest episodes to date.
The best parts are when Amanda breaks down remembering Aidan, moments between Nolan/Amanda and Nolan/Jack, and the last scenes between Amanda and her dad. Victoria and Margaux are just a mess.
Epic must see episode, OMG that ending!
I thought this was a great example of how things will eventually catch up to you if you do enough bad things... I mean... Rick did a lot of bad things guys, this makes sense. It's also nice to see Rick get out of selfish mode and think about his family. Good finale. Great season. Went way too fast, I'll miss it.
If Halle Berry is in he cast, I really don't care who is there with her. Just seeing her for 94 minutes is enough.
Now, this film made it's budget back on opening weekend. The next weekend almost doubled that, and ever weekend after that it was more that double, sometimes triple. This is a good omen. When a film gets more money every week, the word of mouth is driving business, and we can expect a good thriller.
Seeing the action in a 911 call center was exciting and informative. It is no surprise that a mistake can be made in the heat of the moment. The hard part is that a simple mistake can have disastrous consequences.
Berry was outstanding as the 911 operator, and Abigail Breslin was magnificent at the abductee. She has come a long way from Little Miss Sunshine.
The film had you on the edge of your seat when it got going. It was innovative and the tension never let up. A bathroom break was impossible as you wouldn't dare miss a minute.
I am sure that there will be debate over the ending. As a fan of revenge films, I applauded it, but others may have reservations.
Intense. But the ending seems a bit disconnected.
Dan : ".. after we..."
Lucifer : "You what... ?"
Dan : "Made... love."
Lucifer : "YOU SLEPT WITH MY... M..ARLOTTE !?"
Epic.
Surprised the Asians couldn't hear that conversation through that thin wall.
Easy Peasy Chinese !
Nice kiss at the end... NOT.
