Entertaining movie, but man is it stupid
It has been a while since I read the book, but the start looks promising. Bit slow, but not the worst. Let's see how it continues.
A classic Schwarzenegger Sci-fi movie. Always great fun to watch again.
Overall, quite a fun movie, I did quite enjoy it. But the whole time I could not shake a feeling. A feeling that I'm watching a US remake of a better Japanese movie. There have been many in the past. This one feels the same, as an American movie with a Japanese backdrop. And that just makes it feel fake overall. They did not even bother to hire Japanese actors for the Japanese yakuza. Just why?
I think I will just read the book next time. Should be better.
For me, this is the last movie I'm watching with Sandra Bullock. Her scary plastic face will haunt me forever in my nightmares
Edit: After watching it two more times, I still have the same issues with the movie, but I have to up the rating to 9, as it's just too much fun and you notice so many things when you watch it again.
Great pirate movie, even if a bit too much inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean. Still, great characters and many funny moments.
Update: After watching it few more times, I now like it more than Pirates of the Caribbean (just not the sequel, that was bad)
Pretty visuals, but mediocre writing. Feels really slow and bloated, with mostly nothing going on. There were moments when I thought this was written by AI. I hope the story picks up, but that will not help the horrible characters. As in most shows, the characters that should be the smartest behave like total idiots, and that repeatedly. Suspension of disbelief is not enough to take this seriously when there is no effort shown.
This was painful. At least it was quite short. Around 30% is quite interesting archive footage, with the rest some guy just making things up. Toward the end I really expected they will start blaming aliens.
I just watched this for the 4th or 5th time and enjoyed it again. Such a great movie.
Who's gonna tell the kid that he is adopted? No way he can be a child of those two idiots.
A fun action movie, without much logic. Still enjoyable.
By now I have seen 6 versions of this movie and the German one is still my favorite, followed closely by the Italian original. I especially like that they did not use the ending where nothing happened, and stick to reality
It's an ok time travel movie, but it's hard to take seriously when everyone is behaving like total idiots. You just can't believe that these people are supposed to be genius scientists that developed time travel.
Overall a funny story, that is quite stupid and hampered by some bad acting. This would work better as a stage play.
Maybe not as good as the book, but a really good adaptation. Too bad that once you know how it ends it's a bit harder to enjoy the mystery.
The main leads work quite vell together here which makes for quite an entertaining movie. Exactly what one would expect of a simple sport-themed romantic comedy.
When I saw that the writer (and almost everybody else) of Beyond the infinite two minutes wrote a new movie, I just had to see it. And it again play with the idea of time travel, but again in a very unique way. This time it’s a Groundhoog Day style movie, but it repeats after two minutes and everyone is in on it. Surprising how much can be done in two minutes. While I liked Beyond Infinite 2 minutes more, as it tried to show a simpler story with more intricate time travel aspects, this was also good. The time loop hooks you in quite quickly and the resolution while not that original, was not bad. I did not really get the snow. They did not try to explain the weather changes much, so at times it felt distracting
Update: on the second watch, they do try to explain the snow, as shifting realities.
Simple, fun, crazy movie. Pure entertainment. It's worth just watching for John McGinley. He plays the same character in everything, but he is always just perfect.
Another great adaptation of a Higashino mystery. Great to see that they got all the main actors reprising their roles. Yes, the book is better, but mostly because it has more space to develop the characters. You can see that this is a continuation of all the other stories with Galileo, and probably not a good spot for newcomers. Also, as in all the other Higashino stories, it is quite sad, almost depressing. Still, I really liked the book, and I also did the movie.
I don't understand the low ratings. This is such a fun movie. Something like a modern version of the Clue. Really great.
So this movie has martial arts, gun fights, lasers, aliens, robots, time travel, mages, comedy, and much more, and still is entertaining and makes sense in the world they created? Hard to believe it. Can't wait for part 2.
After two episodes, I have no idea where they are going with this show. Still, the main character of Torako is quite entertaining, and it peaked my curiosity enough with the hints of the overall story, that I will continue watching it.
I watched this again today because I forgot if I saw it already. And that's not good, being so forgettable. The cast is good, the effects ugly, the 3d very annoying. If they removed the 3D stuff and made the rest scary, it would be an ok movie. They should learn from the older iterations of the series. Sometimes what you don't see is scarier than something right in your face.
I do enjoy single location movies and also killing game movies if they are done well. And this one mostly is. The setup is good, the resolution also, there are good actors here. You can see the inspiration from And then there were none by Agatha Christie and from the game Clue which is not bad. To bad that even though the rules of the game are told, they are mostly ignored .
What I did not like was that some of the character motivations were very vague, some of the dialogues felt really forced, and you can predict a lot right from the beginning. . Still, I enjoyed it from start to finish.
No story really to speak of, but the CGI and the fights looked great. Ant that's really the only reason to watch this movie, and what I wanted from it.
I rewatched this after Black Window to forget the horrible fight choreography (or whatever that was) in that movie.
Better than I expected. Quite enjoyed it. As long as they don't sing that is. At that moments the movie goes off the cliff. Except for the princess, she sounds good.
Really enjoyed this one. The visuals look great, music was perfect including the sound effects. The story is good, and you will root for the characters (that even change and progress as the story goes). Godzilla is scary and menacing. I can't think of anything I did not like. Can't wait for a streaming release to see it again.
Laughed 0 times, chuckled about 3 times. It was just boring from start to finish.
Just another disappointment. If they have money to spend on the CGI and the good actors, why don't they spend some of it on a good writer? But looks like a story no longer sells a movie. This felt like it was written by someone who heard about Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribean (just heard, not seen) and they tried to make something similar. And failed at it. Not even Dwayne can save this mess.
If Holywood will continue like this, there will be no point at all even to bother watching anything that comes from there. Trash upon trash with more trash on top. Really sad.
This movie stands completely on the performance of the main character. And I think Rebecca Hall was quite convincing. A good horror movie but maybe they could forget about the jump scares next time.
I rewatched the trailer afterward to be sure, and I really found it and the name misleading. The whole house and the mirror house/world concept play's a very little role in the movie, and it left me a bit disappointed. I expected more of this alternative reality stuff.
