Ah, another one I remember quite well, probably because I also watched the Monkees. I wonder if they attempted to get all the Monkees, or if they ever just went for Davy. A great welcome back to the musical chase scene! I didn't realize that it was a song that was done for Scooby-Doo, Where Are You, covered by Jones. I believe the Jerry Reed one is, too.
This is more my memory of The Globetrotters than actually watching them play. Well, here and Gilligan's Island. I'm curious as to the casting for the voices. I had to go back to relisten to see if I would recognize Eddie Anderson. I wonder if they slowed down his voice.
The second appearance for the Three Stooges, and definitely the more memorable. The hopping Red Baron is a huge part of my memory of this episode, and as I watched it, more came back, like the weedkiller/fertilizer switch. Pat Harrison is spot-on as Moe. I know Joe Besser does voices for other H-B shows, so I'm curious why he didn't do Joe, instead of whoever they got for Curly Joe.
The imitations for Laurel and Hardy sometimes work, and sometimes really don't. It's the lack of consistency that's distracting. The gang is sporting their winter gear once again. I do appreciate that Stan crashed the car into the limo. That felt very L&H.
New season, new version of the theme song. They've changed up some of the clips used for the opening credits, and we've got musical chase scenes!

Another departure from formula, in that there's no "villain", nor even did anything truly wrong or criminal. If Funland was due to open in a few weeks, why would the gang be surprised that there are lights and rides running? They'd need to test the rides and such.

The ghost design is so familiar, definitely one of the iconic monsters in Scooby-Doo. I think we get the closest to the full, exact phrase here, but it's "We would've gotten away with it, if not for you meddling kids" rather than the singular "I". I definitely didn't remember the end with the wetsuit.
These seem to work better split into two parts the way I saw them in reruns. They're just a bit long for a single episode, but I'm guessing that they had a ton of commercials on the initial broadcast. A strange animation error has Batman without a glove with a ring significantly on one finger. I wonder what that was used for originally. The kids don't actually realize who the villain is, still thinking that the kindly old lady is just that. Jinkies is spoken for the first time, but not by Velma. Instead Shaggy said it. And for the first time, we have the villain blaming Scooby, and not the meddling kids.

Shtick performed - Scoob steals Shag’s food, Velma loses glasses
Notable characters - Batman and Robin, Mrs. Baker, Joker, Penguin, Gotham City detectives
Red Herrings - Joker and Penguin were the side plot, not the perpetrators of the counterfeiting
Gang splits up - SS go with BR, FDV and SS split up in haunted house, V runs off.
Traps set -
Notable occurrences -
When they put these out on blu-ray with the episodes that weren't in the DVD set, it would've been nice for them to restore the original opening animation. It's really odd to have the 3 Stooges in the cartoon, but not in the opening. Never seen Fred & Daphne bicker like this before. I'm missing the musical chase scene.

Back to the formula, although there really isn't a creepy location. Shaggy and Scooby aren't as reluctant to hang around because of that. Also a bit of a switch up in that the villain isn't seen prior to the end.

Notable occurrences - Scooby gets hypnotized, Daphne gets hypnotized, Shaggy runs track in school, Shaggy gets hypnotized
They really should've had something more Robin Hood themed for Sherwood Forest.
Pretty predictable mystery, but a good monster design that I remember from Saturday morning viewings.
Joe Besser is really much better than he's given credit for, I think. His Babu is so much fun, and works really well with the other characters.
I would really like to find out how much these episodes got reran back in the '70s, because this is another one I'm certain I never saw. The design of the ghosts is familiar, but the fact that they're modeled after ice cream flavours is completely new to me.
I feel like I remember this character design, but I could be mistaking it for the sanitarium ghost. Masks inside of masks.
One of these days, I'm going to figure out who they're modeling Dyno-Mutt's voice after. Part of me wants to say Huntz Hall, but the laugh isn't quite right. Maybe the laugh is based on someone else.
Clever "And Then There Were None" spoof, although with less mystery.
Nice Von Stroheim caricature. I wonder what directors from today get this treatment. Tarantino?
I really must've missed the first season of Dynomutt because I never saw the three episodes that featured the Scooby gang. This was possibly the strangest one of them, with the weird swamp villains.
Two zombie episodes in a row. It's fascinating to see how the other character designs have changed over the years, especially the shapes of the faces, while the gang remains mostly the same.
This seems like the first real supervillain they've faced, maybe because of the garish costume. One wonders at the wisdom of a criminal providing an equal level of power to other criminals, though. Even without Blue Falcon's intervention, I don't see that ending well.

I'm finding a don't remember a lot of the first season of Dynomutt, and I wonder if there was something on opposite that I wanted to watch instead, but I vaguely remember this one with the fake Blue Falcon.
I'd really like to know the origin story of some of these villains. Why does Fishface have the face of a fish? We got information about the Worm last episode, but what about some of these others?
I wonder when Mr. Mind first appeared in Filmation's Shazam series. I kept waiting for the Worm to call Blue Falcon the "Big Blue (Bleu?) Cheese!"
The highlight of the episode was the appearance of Mumbly at the end. In three episodes so far, we have guest appearances by the Scooby gang and Mumbly. I wonder who else we'll see. Was there some subtle religiosity in this episode? When the Gimmick is escaping out the window, it looks like "Christ Lives" is painted on the side of the adjacent building.
Is it possible that I never saw these when they ran on Saturday morning? I certainly remember watching Dynomutt, but I feel like I never saw the team-ups with the Scooby gang until now. They felt a little underused in this one.
I remember aspects of this one, like the giant feet, but so much of it felt new again. I wonder how many miles is on the Mystery Machine. Do they stop and visit Tinker every so often so he can overhaul the engine?
The final episode of this series, and you have to wonder what pull Dick Van Dyke had at the time to be considered for the guest star bit. After looking him up on imdb, apparently he was starring in a tv series called The New Dick Van Dyke Show when this aired, so he may have been a bit more in the public consciousness than I thought. So very interesting that even those his new show ran for 72 episodes over three years, it's virtually forgotten, especially compared to his earlier black and white series. But it does make sense as to why he's appearing here in our last guest star episode...until the following year when he teams up with Blue Falcon, much like his team-ups with the other H-B properties.
