Very enjoyable indeed. Binged the lot and it was a blast.
You need to like mystery, sci-fi, subtitles (heavily used as there are migrants going to America) and having said that you need to be engaged continually to keep up.
There were a couple things that griped me, but it's more personal. I'm getting quite frustrated by the lead actor (not only in this show but others too), that has a husky voice and on top of that she is a quiet talker and whispers 90% of the time making it very hard to hear her especially the way these shows are mixed, always seems to have higher than normal background noise or music. It isn't all the women actors. Just damn annoying.
Then there are the predictables. But all in all the season engaged me, the actors held my attention.
The beetle... interesting. My overall rating for this season would be 8.5/10
Just finished watching season 1. A few points to bring up first.
1. Alan Tudyk is outstanding in this role
2. Every episode made me Laugh Out Loud several times in each episode, not just giggle

Out the gate I have to say this is the funniest shows I've watched in years. Only Big Bang drew out belly laughs similar to Resident Alien. And Alan knocked it out the park in his delivery. Every character in the show has a story it isn't only about the alien. There's quite a bit happening in the show and I also appreciated the show having a Native American focus too. A nice touch considering we're focusing on Colorado rural area. I didn't see it just as a push for woke.
Big Black is a great addition and the deputy.
There are some fun surprises and seriously Resident Alien had me bursting out laughing many times mainly because I like dry wit, dark comedy, and plays on words. Last year sucked in so many ways. Resident Alien breaks those shackles, shows some amazing footage of Colorado, puts a smile back on faces and who doesn't need to exercise those smiling muscles and lungs again. WATCH THIS SHOW.
This show needs to be picked up again. Keep the same two, Ealy and Urban as they played their parts well and had a great chemistry on screen. Almost Human didn't take itself too seriously, in fact I would say it had very similar traits as Stargate:SG1.
Definitely deserves a reboot on a better network, perhaps Netflix?
I'm not sure who categorised this as a drama/horror, but it should be relisted as Dark Comedy/SciFi... I like this show. There's been a number of times I've enjoyed a number of good belly laughs out loud. I hope we see a season 2.

That's all anyone needs to know when trying to figure out if watching Shōgun is worth the time and energy.
This miniseries should be required viewing for anyone in the entertainment industry to comprehend what good story telling and construction of a series is.
This should be the bar, the gold standard in quality in every respect that shows should endeavour to achieve. Not just in historical drama but every genre!
We have had a constant diet of empty, lifeless garbage flood our screens (for the most part), expecting easy money making profits while dishing out crap.
We don't expect the lavish expense that has gone into Shōgun as the norm, but do expect decent story writing without today's continual political agenda bashing the audience. We watch shows to get lost in the world and the story being told to us.
We refuse the incessant garbage. We demand stories written by people, not a room full of monkeys, or AI and we want those writers to be passionate and well versed in the story 'world' they are writing about. No more compromise, no more 'calling it in'.
Audiences deserve better, and Shōgun piqued our desire for exceptional story telling and crafting for the screen. The vast library of modern entertainment is a waste of money and time.
Having just finished watching the finale to the series I want to say I applaude the writers ending the show with a fitting finale! I won't go into detail so as not to spoil anything but well damn done.
The cast provided top performances right till the end. Well thought out plot, perhaps a couple little holes but what script has ever been perfect. This however was probably as close as you're going to get. I particularly enjoyed the tie in to S1, masterfully done.
Overall, if you like spy movies, espionage, current event scenarios and general cat and mouse, tug of war, situations you should like Homeland. The characters have flaws and throughout the 8 seasons it never glosses over these, but digs deeper into each characters relations with each other. There are slow moments dribbled throughout the series but just learn to expect them in any series... They are there to build and develop the characters. I'm sad to see the show end as it was one of my favourite shows I looked forward to every week. But the end was satisfying without doubt.
Thank you to the showrunners, writers, cast and crew. Job well done.
Our little girl Chloë Grace Moretz is all grown up from the 'Kick Ass' days but she's still kicking ass in this scifi series and she's playing the part well. As with all the primary cast kudos to the casting crew.
The Peripheral is a mix of real-time and 'virtual time' and without giving anything away it isn't hard to (not like WestWorld became), follow.
The other characters have good backstories, and as I'm writing this with ep6 under my belt, there is a lot to keep you interested not just the main Flynne (Chloë) thread.
If you like sci-fi with an original story plot with hints drawing from the likes of 'Matrix', 'Ready Player One', 'Free Guy' and 'Westworld' then you need to give 'The Peripheral' a look. I'm quite impressed as it's tight, SFX are good and the story is coming along very nicely.
The only thing I found distracting is the lack of Flynne wearing a pendant (when you watch it you'll understand). it's got my solid 8 to 8.5
I've watched the four episodes available so far and even though Joss Whedon is steering this (I hope he treats the actors better in this than his other projects), and at first I thought uh-oh more woke dribble, but I always give new shows four episodes before I come to a conclusion whether to keep watching or not. I must say it 'may' come across as Woke, but it is set in a women's orphanage and the premise was only women were Touched (but later reveals suggest not). There are some really good sfx and unique moments along with shock moments. Overall there is some solid acting (and some not), and the writing isn't bad. My suggestion, watch the first four episodes before deciding on whether to delete a show from your list. Give it a shot. I'll continue to watch this season to completion before making my mind up.
How does one get changes made to the listings? This series only had two seasons and not 5 as it is listed.

I liked Katee Sackhoff in Battlestar Galactic a, and I was truly hoping this was going to be a SciFi show I can get into.
Seriously. WTF is this crap. This is a 90201 space romp. No continuity, no research done on any scientific level. Horrible! Katee, good luck with this one, you're gonna need it!
If you are here to see if the show is worth the view, I say give the first two episodes a whirl. Don't say I didn't warn you. 1/10
Probably one of the best innovative explorations in the human character and what can happen when faced with crisis. Well written and very well acted. Definitely a show not to miss.

I haven't read the books. I don't know much about this series at all other than its a scifi. I like most scifi so long as the story is well told, acted okay, and generally not get too ridiculously stupid. The mystery is (over the first two episodes) well paced and it's giving us just the right amount of hooks to keep us going.
My question is why do they go out in protective suits? My first thought would be to provide a nice cocktail of hallucinogens and poison, but that's too obvious and predictable.
Then of course the are other major questions that arise like obtaining raw resources, but I guess things like that may get answered as we go along. But I guess Gilligan's Island went for quite a while without answering some major sticking points... but that's another story.
Okay, I'm going to get to the point... This show sucks!!
How can a show start this bad, and continue!
I was rooting for the zombies kill of this 4 pack and the two lagging behind.
And more surprising there's a season 2.
Just don't bother... I'm pretty sure it was watching this show in the first place that created the zombies.

At the end of season 8 with season 9 green lit I wanted to share without spoilers my honest take on the show in general. I've had Blacklist as my go to show when airing. It's been 8 seasons so there has been some real clangers and some episodes that could be termed snooze fests. But over all the show is intriguing and very watchable with James Spader being brilliant with the other cast members having their excellent moments also. The have been some epic, spiking a touchdown, knockout in the first round, exceptional episodes that I wouldn't be able to do justice to with just words. Some excellent writing! One of the most touching and unforgettable episodes paying tribute to Clark Middleton's character Glen Carter "Jellybean". Simply outstanding! This has to be The Best farewells to a loved character and cast member that I can say ice seen in any show (And I've seen a Lot of shows). The Blacklist is good viewing in my humble opinion.
This is a continuation of my initial thoughts on City of Angels.
Now that I've concluded watching the whole season the last few episodes picked up for me.
The supernatural thread in the show unfortunately for me alludes me not being familiar with Mexican folklore. That's fine as that isn't the be all end all of the show. It is a very complex dark story with many facets, each depicted in a way to drive home what I feel is the main purpose. More on that later.
There are some truly thought provoking scenes. The cinematography and the authenticity of CoA is really something. The characters are well portrayed and overall a good ensemble. The season finale, the last two episodes that I just finished were outstanding. The big band music the large dance house really gave an uplifting swell, it's worth watching the last episode just for that. But then that swell, turned predictably into a bubble and the high burst finding ourselves in the depths of darkness.
This is where CoA does a great job. Even though there are many story threads they are meaningful and you could skip on the surface but it is far better to get completely immersed.
If I were to nutshell it each storyline is racially driven. Each facet brings home the distasteful and shame of racism, the insatiable desire of power over one, or a community, the destruction that comes from wanton division to control and finally greed in power. There are those that try to unify them there are those that lust for destruction.
Some may even decide that this type of show cuts too close to what is happening today and may try to cancel CoA, but DON'T. This cancel culture must be cancelled itself. It is these types of shows that can help understand and reflect the errors of the past that we can learn to be better and it shows how far we've come.
There are some great life lessons in this season. Worth the watch for sure. In conclusion PD CoA has grown on me. I do hope there is a second season.
I miss Fringe with a passion. Fantastic characters each of which performed and excelled at their art especially when looking at alternate universes. Walter (John Noble) is my most favorite character in a show hands down. Olivia, portrayed by Anna Torv, I have a big crush on, shows her versatility as an actor playing multiple parts and characters extremely well. Fringe was so underrated and should have had more seasons. I still have November's Diary on my coffee table. I also miss the addition to the lab - Gene.

After watching the first 2.5 episodes after it was released and got bored from watching it I returned to e if it got better... And it did!
I just finished the season and I must say it's a darker more along the lines of 'The Expanse' style of Star Wars focusing on a very small portion of that world.
I'm glad I took the time and energy to come back to Andor. I'm now looking forward to season 2!
If you tried watching Andor to begin with push through the first 2-3 episodes and you will be surprised by this storyline. it clearly has No Kathleen Kennedy fingerprints on it.
Now I've finished the season there's a few things to say about it.
- This has to be the s l o w e s t slow burn that I've ever experienced, other than possibly watching a documentary of a patch of grass growing in real time.
The first 4 eps could have been chopped.
I was close to dropping the series at the end of ep 4, but I persisted. It felt the show's writers couldn't make up its mind whether to make this a human drama (w/o the sci-fi component), or a sci-fi but chocced to capacity with frivolous human drama.
I was fully disappointed Sam Neill beat Sean Bean in exiting a show.
the agenda is strong in Invasion. One could feel that they wrote the sci-fi component to indoctrinate those that have no desire or regard for this continued injection of ideology.
overall the season was okay. Predictable plot in a number of areas. The loooong loooong ponderings, reflections, thoughts, mindless staring to be edited half the time than what they are at the moment. It's almost like they combined slo-mo with prolonging camera focus, but either one would have sufficed but they used both (they probably didn't do this but it's just how it feels).
If you can handle being slapped across the face while watching this with the Agenda but are a sucka for sci-fi, give this a shot. Invasion is a 5 for me, at most.
I've just finished watching this show.
It's June 2022 and if you can't see how crazy 'coincidental' this series is to the last 2.5yrs and going to reality, you really aren't paying attention.
Everything from the flag colours having some issues (running all the way through this series), a 'flu' virus or the fear of the threat of one, global injections, and if you've kept up with that you would know of the danger of the shots themselves, depopulation, infertilisation, and if that doesn't make you think twice or three times, later in season 2 they bring up fertilizer reductions, wheat shortages, and increase in China tensions... after all that you have to wonder did the creator of this series have a vision of 9yrs in the future??
If you didn't see this, where have you been for the last 2.5yrs!
I've just finished watching Elementary through for the second time.
If you forget about the loose relationship to the classic Sherlock Holmes character and the occasional virtue signalling and other bias political directives you can actually enjoy the series. The dry wit of Holmes is a crack up and some of Watson's retorts are likewise.
Sometimes I believe the entertainment industry has this somewhat baffling need to ride the coat tails of known classic hits only to shoot themselves in the foot when the audience becomes disappointed by how little the alluded link to the classic characters/theme reveals itself. Then the audience thinks 'this has nothing on the original or a remake from another country', they then quickly loose interest and move on.
If American show makers have a little more belief in themselves and their intended audience they needent hook into past classics but develop a new 'classic' with no sly pass-off but as something new.
There were some very good moments in this show with interesting cases along with a very somber and heart felt long story arc that became a strong thread all throughout not to mention a genuine love that grew between the lead characters.
My advice is drop the classic Holmes and Watson expectation and just enjoy the show and the characters for their own reasons.
Elementary has its moments and has a fairly good balance of comedy, drama and interesting moments.
Holmes and Watson take their time to become bonded but they do.
There are some glaring errors at times in the writing. One example is on a case they determined the shooting (that we saw) was fired from 'a semi automatic MP5'.
But the firearm was full auto. There are others but I won't add them here.
Overall it's an enjoyable watch. It is a show that I looked forward to weekly and recently I've been enjoying the second revisit to the show. There are good story lines and quite the cast to put some extra oomph in the series. There's also an interesting long story arc that eventually presents themselves.
Overall a good watch if you're into Whodunits dramadies.
Well if I knew the way I felt about this show after finishing the series I would have started watching Travelers when it first came out.
I did start watching it but from memory there was another time travel themed show that came out at the same time, I may have gotten these two shows confused. Why am I bringing this up? It's only because I recently discovered Brad Wright created Travelers and as I'm a big Stargate SG1 fan I figured I should give this another go, but this show wasn't like the one I watched in the past.
Admittedly it took a few episodes to warm up, but from there on it just kept getting Better. Time travel has been done to death but this one had a much better method to bring the show to life. 12 Monkeys series was good but Travelers did none of the hard to follow time jumps and frustrations that can lead to. I think that is why I can say that Travelers did the time thing very well, and worth the watch.
The actors did a top job and the writing was good. Of what SFX there were in the show they weren't the best but the story covered and made up for the budget limitations.
Travelers is most definitely worth putting the 'time' into it. It's only 3 seasons but every season jumped up in viewers and there's a reason... It got better and better as each episode played out. There is a long arc binding it all together.
For those who aren't sure if they want to invest their time into a series that only lasts 3 seasons and worried there isn't a reasonable conclusion, don't be. Give it 4-5 episodes and if you aren't hooked come back and give me a prod.
I really hope Brad Wright looks into rebooting this show, it definitely has the distinct makings for that to happen.
I've watched this all the way through. I've watched all the other Discworld mini series / shows that have been released to date and The Watch is the most disappointing. Just because they name a show to cash in on the popularity of a classic, funny, series of books by a true creative artist, Sir Terry Pratchett, doesn't mean it will instantly gain the same level of praise when the show really just gets hijacked by identity politics, bad acting, bad scripts by activists and not talented screenplay writers. Comedy is all about timing timing timing and this has all the timing of an abacus. If this continues to be the way of television entertainment, there's no point continuing with this lifetime hobby and passion. May as well paint or program apps instead.

The Terror is a series following the same lines as American Horror Story where each season has a different story arc.
Season 1 I watched when it first came out. Even though I remember I enjoyed watching it in having trouble remembering the details of the season. As with others here there were a I remember slower moments but that only enhanced the suspense.
Season 2 I've only just started watching and I'm 'hooked' so to speak. This season is focusing on Japanese that have come to America prior to Pearl Harbour. The spirituality of the Japanese and the whole culture is captivating and the first episode sets up for a very entertaining and mystical season.
I'll return once completing this season my end thoughts. Already though for my taste this will be an enthralling ride.
I will be back to properly review 12 Monkeys because I'm only up to the end of season 2.
But I had to come on and give a big pile of praise for Emily Hampshire 'Jennifer Goines'. What a Frackin fantastic actor! Emily knocks it out of the park! She does Crazy, crazy well. Love this one!
If you want to watch a time travel show done well this is the one for you. There's a lot of jumping so you need to pay attention but let's face it what good time travel show doesn't need to have your complete attention!?
Nah... Keep it to being Ended. Don't do a season 2...it's not worth it. It's just crap and has nothing of interest here.
I tuned into this one coz I've had a long time crush on Carla Gugino since Spin City, Sin City and Night at the Museum among others, as well as Mary McDonnell and Mark Hamill.
But sadly even with these and other excellent actors I couldn't stay connected to the story. It looks like it's only a one season show I guess I'm not going to miss much.
Okay, I'm late to the show and just finished watching season 1.
I can just imagine the pitch for this show and this is how it would've gone...
'So there's a group of people we just drop in on and this community is caught up in a hole of a town they can't get out of. Then weird stuff happens'.
'Like what?'
'Have you seen Lost? Stuff like that, you know weird ass sh*t'.
'But that's already been done'.
'Yeah, but it's different... Ooooh, and it has Vampires!'
'Okay, and then you have those that talk to and see the dead, with some Alice in Wonderland sh*t going on too.'
'Right... so what keeps the audience coming back?'
'Well obviously those that die come back in memory scenes.'
'Then there's trees, strange trees.'
'And you got some Melrose Place sh*t goin' on too.'
You get the idea, I hope.
