iZombie is a good binge. A solid 7/10 for this happy distraction from reality, which is ironic considering the theme.
I just binge watched the entire show in a week. The script was often messy, but mostly alright. What made the show great was the acting. The obvious bond the entire cast had, everyone did a great job, and Tatiana Maslany was amazing.
HILARIOUS! I did not expect to enjoy this so much. Looking forward to next season.
Another good show cancelled. I guess there aren't enough people in this niche target audience to justify the cost of production, in other words - they aren't making enough money. Ah well, another one bites the dust.
Costume, set designs, and DRAMA!!! It can get a bit dreary from time to time, but Gilded Age is generally entertaining.
Absolute snooze fest. LOST made more sense and FLASH as terrible as it is right now, is more entertaining. TERRIBLE.
Curious murder mystery, manages to grab your attention and keeps you on the leash, but that ending is a huge middle finger to those of us who invested in the characters. Was it cancelled before they could mumble, mumble, mumble... conclusion? (runs off to find out from google, but thanks in advance).
I'm so happy Good Omens is coming back. Good times ahead!
A fair run at a first season, with the usual challenges of trying to establish foundation. I'd say it had potential as a soft police drama, but likely got cancelled because it was far too "woke" and "progressive" for the "business" folk. The show wasn't perfect, but there are far worse (more docile) shows still airing.
A worthy sci-fi series that never got the chance to truly shine. Not without flaws, but deserving of the screen time.
Another show that wasn't given a chance to truly evolve and flourish. All the actors are good, but oh my, Elizabeth Marvel's talent is a delight to watch and her voice work in this show is amazing. I wish they had been given at least a Season 2, it's a shame really, to see some of the garbage that's allowed to stay on air instead.
The creative story of how John Ripperton (clearly inspired by "Jack the Ripper"), an English cannibal occultist, came to a small Brazilian village and established an eternal cult community.
Putting aside the vexing sexual exploitation, the show was otherwise intriguing. It was intriguing and would have been less confusing if the characters' histories had been told earlier. Perhaps an episodic focus and revelation of a single character. That said, The Forgotten Valley was a hot mess.
3/10 - the tale was curious, the characters were interesting, and the acting was good.
It's the Adult Swim version of animated Star Trek. You might not laugh, but you'll certainly be entertained.
It's intriguing enough, but it's unstable. Takes some dedication getting through this show.
Beautiful! Classic gothic horror at its finest. Though I enjoyed the original text very much, this made for television version is preferable, and the ending is far more solid.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is like many shows that are unfortunately cancelled before they get a chance to develop, ripe with potential that the world is deprived of. In any case, it's not the original Penny Dreadful, so don't expect that, and the story is a little slow moving as is the norm in the first season of most new shows, but it's still worth investing in for the beautiful cinematography, powerful acting and impactful story. 7/10
If you've ever enjoyed the works of Ursula K. Le Guin, Stephen Spielberg, Octavia Butler, Michael Crichton or Robert Silverberg... if you like space exploration or sci-fi stories where you get to know more about the people and see them bonding, this is the mini series for you. 8/10
The story did get a bit chaotic nearing the end, but considering the ocean of garbage shows still on air, cancelling Swamp Thing was a sad mistake.
TERRIBLE writing, terrible direction. Those poor actors, they tried but this story was just awful.
Delightful show, the best man Juan.
The brilliant and engaging shows tend to get cancelled. 1899 deserved at least a second season.
Kindred is my least favourite of Butler's books, but I still enjoyed reading it, and this recreation was worth every minute. I loved the changes and how they expanded on the story in just the few episodes. It's an absolute SHAME that it has been cancelled.
As others have said, it has potential but falls short with unbelievable actions being made, and some of exaggerated teenage rebellion. The music is quite good and the popular film referenced are spot on.
It's pretty much a modern twist on Carrie.
5.5/10 - for the music
Modern Addams family drama, and Gwendolyn Christie, what's not to love? If you know the original Addams family comedy style, then you already know what to expect, just Wednesday focused and brought forward a few decades. It has it's occasionally wobbly story flaws, but it's good fun.
I remember being intrigued after seeing Adam some years ago when UNITY engine advertised it as a sample of what their software cpuld do. Although not conceptually unique (what really is...), the storytelling is strong, particularly in Rakka, Firebase, Zygote and Adam. The series may have been cancelled but I'd still love to see full feature films of those four specifically.
This is a fictional story with some tiny bits of historical facts mixed in. Would probably be great for some, but this is just not for me. The music is abominable, the scenes are unbalanced... I've never been more bored.
It is a beautiful and heartbreaking limited series about the weaknesses and strengths of the fictional Thornfield women (and about the power and resilience of women in general).
As usual, an intriguing concept with poor execution. Felt like it could be a Harlan Cobhen limited series, right down to the music, I was actually surprised that it isn't.
A show not to be disregarded. These are seven intense episodes, worth every single minute. Absolutely fantastic watch!
I've never watched Bridgerton, nor do I intend to (just not my kind of thing), but I took a chance on this short series, and it did not disappoint.
7/10 - for the emotional damage. That final episode packs a heavier punch than Princess Augusta's pear brandy.
