Random thoughts incoming:
- Too. Much. Cringe.
- I can't believe they're in university/college and a teacher gives them a punishment as sh*tty as that.
- HOW CAN POND THINK THAT PETE'S A TOP?? IN WHAT WORLD DOES HE LOOK OR ACT LIKE A TOP???
- Why does this have to be a typical cringey-sh*tty Thai BL? Do people actually enjoy this?? The dumb scenes which are supposed to be funny? The awkward touches which are meant to be subtle touches but are incredibly not so they turn into some awkward skinship? The shy, too polite and bullied obvious bottom gay character? The three even more obviously gay characters who are drooling over the previously mentioned one? ISTG, Thailand needs to step up its BL drama game because I've seen a lot of series and a few movies, but only a little number of them had really amazing actors, actresses and plots (and sadly those were mostly not-BL ones). I get that not every more-or-less handsome Thai youngster wants to take on gay roles with kissing when they're straight IRL, so they can't really avoid that part of the problem, but I'm absolutely sure that the producers could've strained themselves a little and thought about this plot for a bit longer than 2 seconds. 'Cause this "default Thai BL" plot is really getting on my nerves.
I'm hoping that the other 3 pairs won't make me cringe so much. I like Tin's character, but I've read who the pairings are going to be, and him with Can... God... I'm prepared for a WTD-like cringefest, though I really want to give the rest of the LBC episodes a fair chance.
I really like how they call Ae shortie when he's literally the same height as everyone else, maybe 5 cm shorter.
The actor who portrays Ae is really good. His movements are relaxed and natural, and so are his facial expressions. So far only he and Pete's mother's actress have real talent - all the others seem like it's their first role ever (as usual for most of Thai BLs, sadly). Even Earth (finally a person I know :'D), but I'm not gonna jinx that because he looked promising in Water Boyy too, and I've seen that he got at least one main role since then, so I'm hoping he will act better if they give him enough screen time.
The ones who play Pete and Pond are acting so badly and cringely.
Pete is one of the most typical (and most annoying) representations of gay people: the shy and awkward gay. I don't know if the actor acts too well or too badly, but it's incredibly cringey. Especially next to Ae whose actor is totally chill and realistic.
And Pond's character... well, he's what I would call the "typical gay in Thai series". Who just watches porn, masturbates and tries so hard to flirt with every person with a vagina, but he's just too stupid to think a little before he says or does anything. I bet he's going to realize he's gay (or at least bi) only after a kiss or two. Or even later. (Seen too much Thai dramas, sorry.) [Edit: Okay, maybe not this time, so it's definitely a plus point.]
On the other hand, that girl in the café was badass. I'd love to see her more in this series, but not ending up with someone, just for entertaining reasons.
And, like the other commenters mentioned it already, there were just too many characters thrown at us right at the start. I've somewhat figured out most of the connections and relationships, but some parts (like the one where two boys [one being No's little brother? maybe??] "traded" a picture of No for a drive in the other's car [sidenote: the one who is interested in No is really attractive; might be a good actor too if he gets more screen time 'cuz he seemed chill]) were just question marks all over my head. But I think that's a pretty common characteristic of Thai dramas too, so I didn't even comment on it at first... :'D
This first episode made me disappointed since people have been talking about this drama for a looong time now (and it has been sitting in my Watchlist probably since then), but I'll continue to watch it anyway. I just pray that the producers won't pull a WTD on me/us, because that series was the most disappointing one of this year. And it was as anticipated as this one, if not more. Crossing my fingers.
Wow, I didn't expect Chul Goo to give the mic to the middle school kid in a competition this fierce. I mean, it was really cool and generous of him (since the boy probably wasn't aggressive enough to steal the mic from all those hyungs), but I don't think they reward anyone in this show for being kind. ...Yep, they didn't.
I'm surprised by how... well, saying intelligent would be too much, but how mature did Snoop Dogg act. Everything I've heard about him - facts, rumors and his songs - are all things that put him in a negative light for me. In these 2 episodes he proved that he can be an actual professional with encouraging words and advice.
And I will mention it everytime if I have to - I'M IN LOVE WITH TABLO! xD I admire him so much that he isn't cussing everyone out, he just makes some jokes about himself and his team's unfortunate situation and laughs about it. :'D
OMG, I live for the MC when even he couldn't control his laughter after 2 people rejected Zico&Paloalto out of 3. (Not talking about Tablo and his evil attempts to lure over the contestants chosen by Team PaZi with YG's food tickets and correcting Zico's mistake - and his laugh when he was successful... XD)
No wonder why I love San E as a rapper and as a person. He stated and showed that he wants to be fair with Hyunsuk and won't choose CJamm just because of his name if they're equally good.
The other side is the Illionaire team with Dok2 and The Quiett's obvious choice of not even giving Toy a chance by taking Chamain (or Chamane or however the hell do they desire to spell it) to a barber, to an Adidas shop and so on. I agree with them saying that they can't really support someone if they don't listen to their advice, but I agree more with Toy just being herself and doing what she wants when her producers ("supporters") clearly do not pay attention to her and favor someone else over her.
I get that Chamain has a lot of potential, but Toy was the better during the lyrics-creating process and at the rehearsals too. So why not choose her? (I sense a bit of sexism and/or xenophobia here, but I don't want to jump into conclusions.)
I'm still a huge fan of Bobby, but man, showing your abs 4 times during those 3 minutes just to get more votes? I'd rather win because of my talent, not because of thirsty fangirls.
And once again, San E with his honest opinion about something people have been talking about and questioning - Vasco's choice of genre. I'm really glad he brought it up for Vasco, especially regarding that Vasco is older and he's probably in this industry longer than San E (even if he's more of an underground rapper). I 100% disagree with Vasco always trying to get out of these "accusations" with the same old "I've been doing hip-hop for 14 years. How am I not hip-hop? I'm hip-hop, no matter what I do.", not realizing he's clearly leaning more towards rock than actual hip-hop.
SPOILERS FOR THE LAST EPISODE: At first I was wondering how could Bobby beat him (since Bobby will win this season), but now I understand it.
It's also a tiny bit lame to mix two of your already released songs and perform that while all the other contestants rapped songs that they had created from nothing in these 3 weeks(?). Is that and inviting another performer allowed in this show? Lol.
It feels like I'm writing a novel here... Anyway! xD
I was surprised about Iron crying - but also not. If I had a win as clear as his, especially doing everything on my own, I would be overwhelmed too. (Though I still don't get why the hell did YDG have to abandon him entirely.) Man, I love Iron's skills and personality in this show - I still can't really take in that he was capable of beating (and even dating, lol) that pornstar-looking girlfriend of his. I can't believe what have he become...
I would've really liked that if they would've stuck with the original idea - if there isn't 4 contestants for a team, those 3 or less contestants and the mentors will be eliminated. Just let them be eliminated, FFS, don't keep giving second and third chances.
I know who's the winner gonna be (couldn't avoid those damn headlines with the spoilers), so I keep thinking if all these rule-changings are just to keep the YG trainees in the competition. Even though Bobby is my favourite contestant, hell, maybe even my favourite idol, I feel like this is a really low blow of a "survival show". And even though I adore B.I too, I admitted that he shouldn't have gotten a second chance because he forgot his lyrics in not one but two rounds (and almost fell in the second one, lol).
That's why I agree and disagree with people and opinions about more famous and more well-known rappers - they must be famous and well-known for a reason (meaning they have what it takes to participate in a show like this), but they also take the places in this show from the unknown, noname people who are striving to become rappers. I think they should've at least separated these two sides somehow because now (I still didn't watch the episode until its end) even among these 25 rappers there could be only 15 at max. who "didn't have a name" before coming to this show. And that's what's unfair.
Tablo & Masta Wu's team: 1 unknown.
San E & Swings' team: 2 unknowns.
Dok2 & The Quiett's team: 2 unknowns.
YDG's team: 2 unknowns.
I think I don't have to say anything else...
Da Young just said literally in the previous episode's last few minutes that she should've asked Ji Woon's number (to be able to call him about that kindergarden paper), but in the episode's very last moment, she called someone - who turned out to be Ji Woon in this episode. So... then she does have his number saved?
Then a few scenes later she doesn't have his number and has to use the cleaning company's card to contact him. Ookay.
Okay, WHAT?! The guy who I thought was Hye Joo's brother/boyfriend (clearly neither judging from her reaction to this ->) is checking out a handsome male co-worker(? or simply hyung)?? Sorry, Hye Joo, I'm changing teams to root for.
I take back a bit of the disappointment towards Ms. Ahn. She had her reasons for changing Da Young's name to hers in the PPT, but she still should've just told the truth at the beginning. At least to Da Young. [Mad at her again because she ignored Da Young's stomach pain.]
It's strange but good to see that at least the guy co-workers are rooting for Da Young and are proud of her - unlike the women who almost just want her to fail and not get into the company.
I hope this won't be a reversed "Cinderella and Four Knights" because I was getting that kind of feeling while Ji Woon was helping out one of the main characters (Sang Ah, who had a different man "for her" in the past episodes). Especially when it was literally the same concept what's going to happen here (probably) in the next episode: 3 men and 1 woman - in Your House Helper it's going to be 3 women and 1 man (but he'll kinda not live there, I suppose).
Though I still think that Sang Ah will get together with that man who she saw at that runway event and when Ddeobok splashed water on him in the rain, it's still weird how similar is the situation of this drama and CAFK. I'm just wondering who'll be the man for that third friend who has that nail salon, 'cuz she seems to be afraid of men (smells like an abusive relationship in her past).
OMG, I love that old man literally dragging Ji Woon to Da Young just so that she could talk to him. He's so gonna be their Cupid.
Also, in love with the short-haired girl. Whether the boy who's working with her is her brother or her boyfriend, they already seem to make a good pair.
Random thoughts throughout the movie:
- I'm sorry, a 13-year-old child with tattoos? With 3 f*cking tattoos?! Man, that's ridiculous...
- I can imagine how desperate and relieved could have the sister been, but not even looking into his eyes? That would be the first thing I would do. (And I'm not just saying this because the only really visible difference was their eyes. When I'm seeing someone after a long period of time, I'm looking to their face, and clearly, I have to look at their eyes too.)
- Okay, so even if they really couldn't see much of the man's face at the beginning, didn't they see that he was (around) 23, not 16 when they took his picture? (And, once again, THE EYES.)
- How could Nicholas have a nephew remembering the happenings? Nicholas should've been 16, I assume his sister wasn't that much older - and even if she was, how could she have a child of at least 5-6 years (to be able to remember a specific day's events)?
- Lol, okay, I should've thought that he was going to create a somewhat believeable lie about his eye color.
- Maybe it's just because I know the whole story as a viewer, but the things that the private investigator and the psychologist(?) found out about the two Nicholas' not-matching ears and accent, I could've easily doubted the "teenager" in front of me by these facts. Again, I can only imagine how relieved and happy that family was to not notice anything, but also, I can't emphasize how careless (or simply stupid) they were to not recognize that the boy in front of them isn't Nicholas, and isn't even a 16-year-old teenager.
- Okay, if the sister actually welcomed the imposter back home knowing the he was an imposter, and the mother laid down on the floor refusing to give DNA samples... then yes, that family is just f*cking stupid.
- So, um... Yeah. Things are getting interesting.
- Who was that person who put a damn phone INTO HIS CELL? WTF is wrong with people?
This documentary was just as expectable from the summary, then totally different because of some twists, then back to predictable. It was a bit strange, a bit interesting, a bit confusing. I feel like we didn't get much true information on the case, it was basically the lies of Frederic and the stupidity of the family of Nicholas. We didn't know what really happened to Nicholas, we didn't know what caused Frederic to pose as as many children as he did (just to receive some love?)... So it was kind of a meaningless documentary for me.
I don't know what to write. I don't even know how to rate this movie yet.
Choi Tae Joon's acting was incredible! Moon Ga Young was good too, but playing a cute girl who likes someone isn't that hard. However, I'm not impressed by Kim Shi Hoo at all. I get that his role was a shy and quiet boy, but shouldn't he have been a little (lot) more disturbed by that job he was offered? Not talking about taking it and bringing it further...
I can't really say if this movie is a one-sided BL, bromance or obsession. But it's clear that Se Joon isn't mentally stable. Bullying could be common (though that's not normal, either), but really thinking and believing that drugging girls then taking them to some middle-aged man who'll rape them is "not doing anything wrong"... then raping and (accidentally) killing a girl who's interested in your friend/crush(?)... Oh, boy.
And turning himself in at the end was unexpectable. But seriously. How he treated everyone around him before, how he had no problems with helping people do illegal things, how he bullied, punched people and smashed their phones (or his own), how he reacted every time he saw Yoon Jae and Eun Young getting closer to each other... There's no way he would've had the guts and especially the guilt in him to turn himself in to the police.
The other thing I wasn't so thrilled about was Yoon Jae's behaviour. He seemed like a decent student. A little shy, but that's fine. Taking a bit risky job seducing girls to have money for your mother's hospital bills - okay. Becoming friends with a passive-aggressive bully who's only kind to you - hmmm... not a wise choice, though it may be acceptable if you can't make any other friends. But taking a job where you have to do illegal things like drugging someone, taking them to another place without their consent and dropping them off so that a pervert old man could rape them? I don't even know how guilt didn't kill him slowly from the inside. It was obviously shown that Yoon Jae had moral problems with it, yet just because it offered 10 times more money than a regular job, it was okay for him to ruin stranger girls' lives? And I thought at the beginning that he was a good guy... Ha.
The ending was a bit rushed, or I don't know. They jump to the time where Se Joon is already in prison, and when the boys finally talk again, neither of them can say what's truly on their mind. (Yoon Jae about liking Eun Yeong and maybe about Se Joon being a psychopath, and Se Joon about liking(?) Yoon Jae or at least being jealous of everyone who dares to talk to him.)
I'll give this a 7. Although it kept me on edge, especially at the last 20 minutes, some parts still needed a little more explanation or deepening. I know how Koreans still are regarding the LGBT+ themes, so this movie is not a bad attempt from them, but I missed a clear sign from the creators that this was intended to be a BL or not. (I mean, it's like 98% clear for me, but I still need that 2%.)
I'm sorry, but if you fall in love with an AI in less than 10 days without even doing anything special together, then you're either not in love with your partner (after 10 years together this would be a little more than awkward situation) or you fall in love way too easily. I don't really know which was the option in Xiao Fang's case, but neither one is too promising...
How could Hao Wen connect the dots so early? He just received an ad(?) asking if he wanted a customized companion for the night. It didn't say anything about the companion possibly turning into a real human, yet HW was flashbacking to all the different scenarios he saw XF talking to or interacting with a seemingly invisible someone.
Lin said if someone touches for example Xiao Fang's phone, they'll be able to see him (Lin). So when Xiao Fang touched his co-worker's phone, he could see his customized companion - which is 100% logical. But when he got Hao Wen's phone into his hand (at the time he went to bring the drunk HW home), he didn't see HW's companion leaving the bar, nor afterwards when HW played the piano in the middle of the night and was clearly talking to and laughing with someone in the room.
Though some people might see it as a movie with a happy ending, I'm sure, I was absolutely opposed to this idea from the moment XF even considered the literal replacement of HW to Lin. A human who supposedly loves someone (and for 10 years, no less) even taking the idea of changing his loved one into an AI and the AI into a human seriously is no less than frightening and evil in my mind. So when XF drugged HW and wanted to get his DNA to put him into the cyber world... Man, I wouldn't even take a step towards XF after this stunt of his - let alone ditching my AI who's actually supporting me and not trying to replace my boyfriend in the real world. Not even talking about getting back together with my ""boyfriend"" who would've calmly sent me into his phone.
The plot was really good; I would definitely watch a show with this (well, maybe not anymore because this movie had all the tension and almost all possible scenes that could be done with this concept). The actors could've been better, but they were not that bad. Like I mentioned before, a more... human ending would've been the best for me (like HW ditching XF for good), though I'm not mad at all because of XF's stunt. Sure, the logical side of it was meh (10 YEARS VS. 30 DAYS, FFS!) but I'm glad it didn't and all rainbows and sunshine with both of them uninstalling their customized companions without any regrets.
Random thoughts while watching the movie:
- Why the F did he honk 5 times? He could've stopped after the second one; Jeong Su already called them on the phone and said he heard a car's horn honking. Also, bringing a clumsy rookie with you when there's a life on the line... Pretty reckless.
- Lol, when the 안전한 ("safe") part of the sign fell down after the second collapse.
- I can somewhat understand why doesn't he turn off the phone (he can have an incoming call from Kim Dae Kyeong anytime), but I would at least turn on the battery saving mode and put the brightness level on the lowest.
- Literally after Mi Na said she wanted to make a call, Jeong Su started dialing. She didn't even say the number she wanted to call, lol.
- It's fine and all that they have a little to drink (and Jeong Su a little to eat), but where do they do their other... needs? Especially Mi Na. Jeong Su can somewhat easily get out of his car to pee/poo, but Mi Na has no options. [Okay, nevermind that. :'c]
- Jeong Su should've checked her pulse first when she didn't respond. That way he could've saved some more water.
- He could've been really bored (and stupid) to try the dog's collar on and even press the button. :'D
- Is his wife alright? She dares to threaten him (don't even try to deny it, Se Hyeon) when he's been isolated, seen a woman die, is dehydrated and starving for almost 3 weeks? WTF is wrong with her?!
- Driving through a tunnel right after his trauma? Man, I wouldn't wish anyone a wife like Se Hyeon.
The movie started out really good. I think it went a little downhill a bit after Mi Na died. They dragged this story on too long, so it became more and more unrealistic as the minutes passed. Realistic is Mi Na's part. You can't survive for more than a month basically alone, without any food, drink and major injuries in a collapsed tunnel - let alone when they blast two pack of TNTs near you. (Don't even get me started with the dog's survival skills.)
Still, it was pretty enjoyable. It kept me on edge several times, and the acting of Ha Jung Woo was amazing. And with all those cool effects and camerawork, it was even more realistic.
Like I mentioned, I would've liked it more if this was at least a little shorter, not dragging on the plot for 30+ days, but it was still a good movie. The ending was a bit abrupt, though.
Lol, Joo Young really pissed me off from time to time. He's so rude and not respecting others' feelings that at some points in the drama I just wanted to punch him in the face.
Min Ho's closure was weird for me. He insisted so much in the last 2 episodes that he'll win Bo Young over, and I know that they made that urine scene for him to realize what he said isn't necessarily true (about not wanting to be embarrassed and lieing to your partner), still I think his character isn't the type to take these into consideration - at least not this fast.
I think everyone could guess that Bo Young could finally have that full-time job in the last episode, so that wasn't really a surprise. What I liked about that is that Dr. Ye didn't ask a favor for Bo Young from the director of the hospital. Instead, he kept his mouth shut (although he, too, wanted to help Bo Young) because she wanted to achieve the full-time job by herself, which is really respectable.
Sadly, other than this scene, they had a really dull ending. They still didn't call each other by their normal names (I was actually surprised that they included that problem in this episode because I just mentioned it as an observation in my comment for the last one :'D), they still didn't use banmal (informal speech) with each other, they still didn't reveal their relationship to the others.
Although there were many scenes and twists that I didn't like in the plot (especially in the show's second half), but overall I wouldn't say it was bad. I'm glad I didn't stop watching it after the first episode because from then on it was a really strong start. It's a shame, though, it went downhill (or more like rollercoaster) for me in the last few episodes.
The whole episode was boring and slow, so they decided to put everything into the last 3 minutes?
Dr. Ye's awkwardness and obviousness was too out of his character. A serious person like him literally drawing gigantic hearts in his notebook? He was so subtle in the first half of the series, why ruin his built-up character for the sake of some laughs? (Again, a common turn-off of K-dramas.)
I was quite disappointed how easily Bo Young made up her mind about dating Dr. Ye. Her character was so strong, too, but only a few sweet words are enough to make her a giggling teenage girl? Ugh.
In the beginning I really loved both of their characters and really wanted them to be together. I thought Bo Young would end up with Min Ho (lol, that poor boy doesn't even suspect a thing), so I was really rooting for Dr. Ye - although I totally believed that Min Ho will be the lucky winner. Now I'm kinda torn. I'm not saying (at all) that Min Ho should be the one with her, but things with Dr. Ye are escalating so quickly compared to the show's pace up until now. They're really sweet together, but I would've enjoyed it a lot more if their original character traits had remained untouched.
Nam Woo's little side story is cute and all, but I think it's a little too late introducing yet another possible pairing to the row (Dr. Ye & Bo Young, Min Ho & Bo Young, the two Dr. Kims, Dr. Kim Dae Bang & that nurse, Dr. Kim & that too decisive patient, Bo Young & that rich patient from Dubai, ... I know, most of these are already decided, but there were just too much possible pairings in these 12 episodes).
It hurts so much to watch the three mains' true emotions.
I'm really glad that they didn't portray Bo Young giving up on Dr. Ye as something easy or by her overdrinking/overworking and passing out - the way K-dramas usually show these scenes. I enjoyed that although she tries to get over him, she still cries a lot and remembers the good things. That's how most people cope with this kind of emotion (yes, maybe with drinking and overworking too, but usually not in the long run).
Min Ho is still not my favourite. I know he apologized for Bo Young before, but I'm not sure that's enough when he's been calling her names and has been making fun of her for half of the show. He's sweet and all trying to make her happy, but I really think he should just sit down and talk with her before... you know, this drama will turn into an even bigger one.
... Dr. Ye. Okay, so I don't get his reasons. Sure, he had an awkward turn in his previous relationship, but just because of that he rules out all women who work in the same field as him? (And I don't know if the translation was wrong or what, but I'm 99% sure that his ex worked at the info desk - at least judging by that little flashback scene, so... not even in his field of work.) And okay, if he really wouldn't want anyone like that, didn't he realize that he had feelings for Bo Young? I thought we were talking about a clever man, but boy, I swear, his emotional intelligence is that of a rock's. At first I thought he knew about Bo Young's feelings from the beginning, but he almost looked surprised when she confessed, and he definitely looked surprised and confused when he saw her face on the projection in the middle of his presentation. So... what?
I would be really glad, though, if in the end Bo Young wouldn't choose any of the guys and would live on happily. Now, that would be a never-before-seen ending. It would make people mad, I'm sure, but just to imagine that she will eventually get together with Min Ho or Dr. Ye - one of the two men who rejected her for some reason while she gave them all her heart... Not so happy ending now, is it?
(And yes, I have nothing to do with my life between my exams. xD)
Argh, I really love the chemistry of both potential pairings, but I'm still not ready to go full Team Min Ho. He's still a jerk and although he becomes more and more sweet towards Bo Young, I just can't get out of my mind his rejection and all the nasty stuff he's been doing and saying to her ever since.
On the other hand, Dr. Ye is a total 상남자 (~manly man)! He looks out for Bo Young from a distance, acknowledging her successes, correcting her mistakes and protecting her. I believe this is a typical man everyone would love for themselves. And that smile at the very end...!
Sadly I'm 98% sure that Bo Young will end up with Min Ho. Dr. Ye will somehow reject her or do something else to ruin his perfect image in everyone's eyes. Or he'll just simply say no because an affair with a colleague was the cause of why he was fired from his previous hospital too - if the rumors are true. (Okay, Bo Young isn't married, but still. K-dramas are just like this. They create a show about two people from rejection to bickering ending in love rather than a show about two people who actually have something in common and have each other's best interests at heart falling in love.)
This episode's poem was incredibly beautiful! I didn't really like the other ones, but Standing Close was so heartbreakingly powerful...
I'm really sad that only these last 2 episodes were close to the quality I was used to in Season 1. And I'm even more sad that it seems like this series won't continue further. They introduced us some new pairings (M&May, Yong&Nai, Tew&Dae, Earth&Todd), but except for M and May it didn't really seem like they were getting together yet - which is really disappointing regarding that a lot of scenes were made only for these pairs.
I loved Krist and Singto's chemistry throughout the whole series, though it is clearly visible that they were a lot more comfortable with each other in this season (especially Krist). The bad side of this is that they barely had any physical contact in these 13 episodes - at least compared to the first season -, so they couldn't really show off their closeness which can be seen off-cameras too. I hope they'll get to act side by side in other series too because I'd really like to see them together again.
I liked the Tew-Dae pair's chemistry too, but their storyline was a little forced (like a lot of other things in this season). Besides that, I'd watch a spin-off or something like this with the two of them as main characters (with a more deliberate storyline).
F*ck, 3 minutes into the episode (not counting the enormous intro), and I'm already missing Season 1's bad*ss hazer Art. And Season 1, in general. :c
I still don't like how the seniors - especially Tew - bother Dae everytime they see him. I really want Dae and Tew to be together, but this kind of relationship just isn't normal. I get that the writer(s) wanted a pairing somewhat like Art and Kong's initial Tom & Jerry phase, but not leaving alone a person who clearly does not want to talk to or be with you is just pure harassment. It's like when a guy doesn't understand that you're not interested in him, but he keeps on trying to persuade you anyway. Tew needs to chill.
Okay, I wrote this (^) before watching that crucial scene. Now I don't know WTF is going on. Dae was mad at Tew everytime he tried to talk to him (let it be about hazing, the trip, books or helping him), but after he became aware that they share the same code number (0058), he literally just stares at Tew in disbelief asking him if all of this was just because of the code number. Like he was actually sad that Tew cared about him only because both of them are 0058, and not because of... love? I'm done. I can't deal with this plot on a logical level anymore.
I won't even go into details about my thoughts of clingy-cringey Kong...
And why do they have to bring in so many new pairs (M&May, Tew&Dae, Yong&Nai, possible Earth&Todd)? YOU CAN'T EVEN GIVE PROPER SCREENTIME FOR ALL THE NEW AND S1 PEOPLE, LET ALONE THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
Chanyeol did a really good job there. Had me fooled too, but in the last 15 minutes he was just too persuasive to be true, so then I thought he must be the demon. Turns out he's got an X. :'D
I only took Soo Geun seriously when he was filmed alone and was sad that he's ignored while he's been saying the truth (that he's the angel) constantly for the past 6 hours. That was when I believed him - but then I fell for Chanyeol's words again, lol.
Poor Mino wasn't really convincing either. xD
I guess these types of games really depend on how you find that person's face and off-game behaviour, not just their actions in the game. This episode proves that no one will give a damn about the words of a middle-aged comedian man - even if he tells the truth for hours. But people will immediately believe a more or less quiet, moderate, young boy (man) like Chanyeol - the opposite of the loud and bold Mino with his big chatty mouth.
[No offense for anyone - I've only see them in this show (besides some MVs), so this is only my impression of them based on this/these Master Key episode(s).]
And I'm still waiting for the episode when finally one (or both!) of the two women guests will have the Master Key! ^^
Shownu was one of the reasons I started watching this show, and I know how quiet, awkward and polite he is, but I was still disappointed that he was shown just a few times in this 1,5 hours. :/
Besides him, I only knew just a few people (like in the previous episode), but I still became to like the others too. All of them, except for Sung Jong. At first he seemed funny when they showed that old ad(?) he played in, but later on he just craved attention. Everytime. When he competed with Chan Sung, my jaw just dropped how rude and impolite was Sung Jong with him. Or is it normal to demand a rematch 2 times when you're the one who doesn't understand the rules and you're the one who wants to win by cheating? I 100% admire Chan Sung for doing it 2 more times than needed and for shutting up Sung Jong multiple times. That kid needs to learn one thing or two about respect and boundaries.
Now the questions about logic.
Why did the blue team choose Shownu to show his key when in the end the other team had to choose from the blues? Why did they permit Sung Jong to try 3 times just because he didn't understand the rules (besides, he cheated three times)? They permit this, but cut out other scenes with different people and different tasks?
This show literally has more than 10 people with cameras + at least 20 more people as staff, but this is the best content they present to the viewers? Man, they should really step up their game...
I love how this series doesn't explain the happenings, so we have to guess why, for instance, Queen Yoo has become grey-haired all of a sudden or how did Wook personally warn Mu of the attack before Baek-ah could arrive to him. Or why does Wook (and sometimes Hae-Soo) change their mind every other minute.
Like, first, they argue about who betrayed who with their secrets, then boom suddenly Hae-Soo wants to escape from the palace with Wook. Wook declines the offer, boom Hae-Soo now says that she can't feel the same way about him as before and that they have to keep their distance from each other. Not even a minute later (44 seconds, to be exact) boom Wook starts being jealous of So, then says he'll win Hae-Soo back. Just... lol.
Also, I don't think the two added girls (Soon-Duk and Woo-Hee) and their relationship with Eun and Baek-ah did much of a favor to the show. Why force these pairings when Eun still clearly loves Hae-Soo, and Baek-ah had to say goodbye to the girl after that kiss anyway? (And in the case of Soon-Duk they didn't even care sharing why was she so obsessed with Eun since their childhood... [Edit, 08. 27.: Later we find this out from a flashback, but that's still a poor excuse to love him that many years after the happening.] At least Woo-Hee and Baek-ah could somewhat bond (or argue) over their two meetings with the children around them. Although that escalated unexpectedly quickly, too.)
Gi Bbeum seems too childish and too adult at the same time. She's deadly afraid of water because of a childhood almost-drowning experience, she immediately screamed "daddy!" when those thugs scared her, and she always acts as if she was still a child, pouting and trusting a stranger too much. On the other hand, she immediately offered to pay for the things Ma Sung bought for her, she didn't back away or shy away from Ma Sung's flirting (as 98% percent of K-drama main girl characters do), she just enjoyed having him around - stating it out loud too.
The strange and new thing is that they shared their first kiss at the first episode's halftime. Which could be a huge, positive step in K-dramas (since most of them have only 1-2 kisses in the whole series, and those are always in the second half of the show), but regarding the plot and that they only met like a few hours before their kiss (and not in a blind date situation)... well, that's a little disappointing for me.
OK, what the F is up with these irresponsible, in-the-heat-of-the-moment choices? Tattooing that flower on his hand just because it reminded him of the woman he literally met that they?! We're talking about adult characters here, near 30-year-olds, not teenagers half their age...
WHAT. 34:19, WHAT??? Okay, I'm not gonna watch this further. These people really don't know how many cringey situations can one episode (and one person) bear. This is just ridiculous.
