Definitely an interesting production. It feels like I am watching a noir film, but in a modern setting. Timeless story and personalities. Self-described addict to movies, which we see glimpses of from time to time, as if to show he imagines his life to be like one, with Bogart. The protagonist is a bit like a relict from the past. Lone gentleman in a suit, driving a vintage car, caring for the vulnerable, dealing with his own demons, longing for a mysterious woman, and who can see right through your deceit. Obvious allusions to the Golden age of Hollywood, but I also sense some inspiration by the French new-wave (inspired by the former). It also simply looks beautiful. I eagerly await new episodes.
Unlike the other review I actually watched it and understood it, and enjoyed it. Very different and something new, in a good way. Look forward to more.
Edit: After watching the whole season wow, just wow,. Haven't enjoyed a show so much in a long time. Hope to see a season 2.
Back when series was announced I imagined how it would look like, and this is exactly that!
This is the best adaptation of a video game. If you compare to the next biggest one - Last Of Us, that one was about following game’s story and focusing on characters and adding lot more drama.
With Fallout it actually replays some game moments and certain inside jokes without looking like a game at all.
Great that it’s not made “safe for all audiences”. This is bold, making story about severed head, cutting fingers on-screen! Main character has no nose. All the rivers of blood and guts! And notice how while we see all that gore, but when the dog is getting shot the camera cuts away :)
There’s too much story to tell and it shows. Most of the time it feels like we are being shown only half, if not less than half of the story. It could have been made much longer without losing anything. And many great actors like Michael Rapoport and Matt Berry only have one scene. They easily could have their own episodes.
Flashbacks are so amazing, just unbelievable and exceeds all expectations.
This is, hands down, the most immersive adaptation of a video game I've ever watched.
I'd go so far as to say Fallout is in a league of its own. Because, unlike most other adaptations, it's an engrossing original story that expands the franchise's universe and fleshes out much of its lore.
The attention to details of the show is phenomenal. Fallout fans will instantly recognize faithful recreations of in-game elements, such as the Junk Jet, Pip-Boys, power armors and their UIs, Dogmeat's sound effects, just to name a few.
What an incredible fan service! Congratulations, Mr. Howard. This time, it really does "just work".
On the flipside, viewers who are not into the games may not appreciate the gore and dark humor that's quintessentially Fallout.
My Season 2 wishlist/predictions: Assaultrons, deathclaws, energy weapons, and a UFO crashing
Awesome first season so far! 10/10 for me.
I quite liked it. I've played one of the games, but I'm not a fan or anything. Fortunately, I think this flows pretty nicely, and you needn't have played them. Solid cast, humorous, nice cameos, and a pretty sweet production. Can't really complain; episode length mayyybe?. Didn't blow my dick off, but it's good fun.
I like how these live-action video game shows are all on different networks/platforms. Order of enjoyment, just cuz: Fallout(Prime), Twisted Metal(Peacock), Last of Us(HBO), Halo(Paramount+).
season 2 when?!
I'm hoping after 2 years we get the following season or sooner after this year. And they can already make spinoffs about this world where we can follow different vault dwellers going outside in their respective vaults similar to the games and follow their own story outside surface. (having at least same quality of writers like this one) They must have good writers:nerd: and interesting storylines if they make spinoffs. :cowboy::sunglasses:
Loved this, the whole thing is a huge goof, you have to really relax and just let it take you, lol
Liking the first episode... Got all the games but never had time to play em....

:scream::scream:
Just binged the entire thing, I liked it personally and think they did a great job.
Having been a die-hard fan of the video games I have high hopes (but low expectations) that this show will be awesome! I felt Silo had a very Fallout feel to them and if this is at least as good as Silo has been then this will be a winner!
Making it in B&W. Why? It isnt clever or cool, just annoying.
This is a modern take on the classic Columbo, with some minor changes. The criminals in Columbo was smarter, and watching Columbo finding the clues was interesting. In Elsbeth the criminals are not as smart, and the actual police is not only incompetent they are refusing to let Elsbeth help when she obviously does the job for them, that makes no sense.
The point where Elsbeth shines is in how happy and easy going the show is thanks to its main character, smiles are contagious and watching it makes me smile and there really are to few of those shows. That really is the brilliance of the show and what makes me wanna watch more of it. I hope it will get lots of episodes and lots of seasons, this is a format that can continue forever and I'll keep waiting for the next one.
Love it love it love 10/10 for me
Extremely unexpected. Guy Richie is a hit or miss type of guy but, 'The Gentlemen' movie and now series are, without a doubt, his greatest achievements. Netflix is a hit or miss type of production too. I really hope they keep this up for a few seasons. The story was predictable but became really unpredictable mid scene. The characters are so saturated that I couldn't tell if I hated or loved half of them. The fact it uses so much realism but manages to be a stress free escape. The creativity, cinematography, score, camerawork, locations, script, jokes, casting, and build are just exceptional. When are we getting more?
7 hours of Guy Ritchie and a bunch of crazy british gangsters. What more could you want?
I don't care what you think or what you have to say about it, but I'm fûqîňğ loving it!!!
7/10 good
Okay this is never going to win any awards!
But it sure is entertaining and good fun to watch, 80% of the cast are good and turn in great performances, the other 20% are just terrible and do detract from the show.
It does move fast and has no time for letting you stop and think, they give you the information and move on to the next scene, give you the information again and move on again, which is okay
I think this is going to be my guilty pleasure….
Sit down, watch and enjoy!!!!
Just seeing the Marvel Spotlight at the beginning made me know this was going to be different than what we have been seeing lately from the cookie cutter movie style Marvel uses for everything.
The show absolutely broke the mold Marvel has been using; and while I enjoyed Ms. Marvel, which tried to break the mold but really didn't, they were able to do so with this. The story was different, very Marvel Knight-esque in terms of how it plays out, but it was a really cool side story for a character we didn't see much of, but she was badass when we did.
In a time when we are lacking a lot new content, this show did not only fill a content void, it did so exceeding my expectations of Yet Another Marvel Anything.
Wow only a 61% rating and it hasn't even been released yet. It's so bad people from the future built a time machine just to travel back to warn us!
It's one these very few TV Series that if you haven't watched yet, you are just waiting way too long.
I think that with a very few others, it most probably deserves a rating scale of its own, staying on the conservative side, I will give it 12 over 10.
You may or may not like the underlying story but in and by itself its only released season (1st) yet is a masterpiece of "cinema/tv", much like the Soprano's, Breaking Bad, Band of Brothers and a few others have been before.
The way the story is told and the characters are developed are for sure posed to change how story telling is approached on TV. Even if you only are technically curious about to where quality TV Series will be moving in script writing, acting and directing, this 1st season is a must watch.
But if you're anything like most of us, you will also greatly enjoy it from a pure viewer perspective.
Some seasons are better than others but every one has a few wtf moments not to be missed lol love it
This show is a masterpiece. Something we needed for all the horrible shows being released lately.
This is jack reacher can’t wait for the next season
Enjoyable and not far off how I imagined the book as I read it. They nailed this interpretation and it’s very faithful to the book.
Neagley was perfectly cast also and you can see the tight lipped make folk work for a response if they aren’t asking the right questions (both Reacher & Neagley do this so I’d suggest it’s their gift). The key is the attention to detail which from the books you know has saved our anti-hero on many occasions.
Please confirm season 2 & 3 could use the short stories for flashbacks etc if episodes need padding out…
Feels good watching a good action tv show that doesn’t try to create some stupid twist or doesn’t have some crazy cast which ruin the show. Good acting by everyone involved.
New favorite show. Period.
My wife doesn't always like the action movies and shows that I like, and she just reads books while we "watch" TV. For Reacher, the book is down and she's all in. It's that good. Then again maybe she just finds Alan Ritchson too hot to ignore - either way at least she watches it with me!
After seeing this it's hard to imagine Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, but honestly he did a good Jack Reacher as a role but he just doesn't fit the physical description. If I had to choose between the Reacher movies or the TV show I would take the show, Ritchson just is that good in it.
After the dreadful films with Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher this was a welcome change, I really enjoyed it and it was pretty true to both the book and the characters.
