Come On! What The F***.
This sort of episode you would find in season 4 or 5 after the show has established itself. This is so disappointing in every respect.
I did find it funny how the dog continued to lick the chest of whoever that was, and that I highly doubt was written into the script.
Thank the Star Trek Tribbles there's only two episodes left, I nearly bailed on this episode it was so bad and I promised myself I would watch the whole season before deciding whether to continue or not. Just utterly lame.
I am so disappointed in this particular show. The music and the way father and daughter found the connection in the music was beautiful and I can relate. But actually glad Lucifer is finishing up this season. This last season has really gone to hell in more ways than one. White man bad, white cops bad... Continue this bull crap negative and false narratives and the entertainment industry will be going straight to hell also. Sad. The first few seasons were really quite good and I've enjoyed Lucifer's return and renewal. But now I'm guessing because of new writers the shows going the way it has. Oh well, just a few more episodes, if I can.
What an amazing show... beautifully shot, costumes and props are amazing, and the Cast - - Wow, you can tell they are putting their craft into top gear.
Anna Sawai is excelling in this role... she is far more engaged than in 'Monarch Legacy...'.
If you aren't watching this yet, what the hell are you waiting for?!
There's a lot of copy and paste in this show, at least in the first two episodes. It's Girls In Space not Star Wars and it only goes to show that catiness and bitchiness is still strong in this future.
They are trying to capture 'The Mandalorian' style of acting but without Helms on so there's a ton of emptiness. There's a 'Tom Cruise' knock off and a ton of just standing around with arms crossed.
No wonder Favreau is pissed at Feloni for buckling and letting Darth K-Kennedy to insert her nonsense into this show yet again. She is the cancer that's destroying Star Wars and LucasFilm completely.. her departure cannot come quick enough. Ahsoka was to be the first show KK free, but she forced her grubby nose and demands into this show too in key areas.
Roll onto Mandalorian Season 4.
Have we lowered the bar so low that all we care about now is the prettiness of a show and we careless about story, content and writing?
Yes it looks pretty, but so is the Venus Fly Trap that entices flys to venture into, and slowly wrap around the fly whilst numbing it so it can't fly away and eventually is consumed by it.
The Weta Workshop always do stunning backdrops, models and that was clearly where tons of cash was used but the swords and armour were deficient in budget. But that said you cannot rely just on 'pretty' to sell a story and keep an audience. You can have the best backdrop on a pantomime but if the acting and the writing is like eating stale cardboard you won't keep an audience long.
I have up watching last week's episode half way through as I was bored out of my skull and returned when I could stomach it. I watched this episode after saying I won't but decided to ensure till the end of the season but I can tell you there was nothing in this episode that have me satisfaction in starting that's for sure.
Honestly this episode felt like it was 3hrs long. It was hurting me to stay focused and try to keep the fragments of the whisp of any 'story line'. Dear lord the writing is abysmal in this thing.
It's like the 'pretty', is 'My Precious' of the original trilogy and is hypnotizing an audience into complete submission.
There was nothing in this episode that made me enjoy it and it even made me despise all the more. This is more targeted to schoolage children just coming home from school. And wasn't it Amazon themselves that wanted a show of equal calibre for their own 'Game of Thrones' type drawcard?
Compare just in terms of what is a strong presence on screen and a believable woman fighting, watch 'Anna' as a recent example. The writing of that movie is quite good too.
This waste of time show is like blowing up a balloon then releasing all the air and all you have left is a stretched soggy and flat but colourful piece of rubber that's no good for anyone.
I really liked this episode... it had some really funny moments, some hugely deep and touching moments.
The writing continues to be good, really hitting the 'What would you do/think about this scenario' challenges. This episode also gave the viewers a swift yet good understanding of Kaylon history. It was well integrated into other storylines and the broken bones was just hilarious and reminded me of one or two relationships that were fun but I knew wasn't the best for my health.
Then there's some very helpful, sincere advice on communication in relationships, something that too few use effectively.
And Charly breaks her PITA attitude.
Just watch the show and enjoy it. I'll say it now, there better be seasons ongoing after this season. They are knocking out of the park this season.
Dang... They are really hitting the target consistantly with this show. It's great to have something to watch and enjoy. The shows end 'Superman and Lois' logo arrives way too quick!
That was a great finale cleverly dropping classic moments from the show and adding some special surprises to really bring it all together, wrapping paper expertly folded and fastened to seal it up, and to give that gift extra pop, the ribbon and bow to depict this is a special gift for you.
Congratulations on a job well done, bringing it to one of the best finales I can think of.
Look, I get the cancer awareness 'thing' and all the family issues going on and the kid being ignored because everyone else being busy.
Maybe they should change the name of this show to 'Family Issues' costarring Superman.
Then we have Bizzaro Superman being regurgitated again. The level is being raised on one end and the show is slipping into a hole. Not sure how much more I can keep myself awake for. I'm not oblivious to cancer or people dying around me. It's part of life.
And when what you enjoy is no longer doing it, why hang around. Life is short and time valuable. We are here to be entertained. Cancer awareness should be found in a documentary.
Dear oh dear... I read these comments and reviews and honestly I wonder if I'm watching the same show.
Has people's taste and understanding of quality in entertainment been pummeled over time to put the bar so low now that this show is being gushed over the way some people are doing?
There is no consistency, the compositing is atrocious, there are some major modelling issues that should have been fixed in post. Continuity is appalling. The Galadriel thing is just monsterous. The acting and writing is truly some of the worst I've seen in such a huge budgeted show.
I was in moments of out loud laughing at the absurdity, or in silence with jaw dropped in gross astonishment. Then forehead in hand with vocal groans pain.
The closing scene was complete nonsense. That would be endgame for any living flesh. Alas we know there is a main survivor that would be an impossibility. 2/10
Nope.
Has Galadriel got bad breath or is she that into ventriloquism? Why is she always talking through clenched mouth. Where is the acting in these people?
Why does it seem like this is the first job everyone got in this show Including the crew? So much disappointment even from the CGI and compositing is just horrendous. It just keeps getting worse with each episode.
The only positive of the crew I can give is to Bear McCreary for the music which at least doesn't suck as bad as the acting, writing, direction, production, costumes and most everything else in this mess.
The only actor to get any nod from me is the one that has been told to act like Bronn from GoT.
I was going to try and forge ahead to the end of the season, but this episode slapped me around the face too many times with a stinky wet fish knocking some sense back into my thoughts and reasonings. So I bid farewell and hope you all come out of this gut wrenching mess with some hint of taste so as to recognise a hint of quality in future shows.
Forgive me but I gotta do it... That was Super!
What a cap to the season finale.
And another I got to address is my thoughts going into this show to begin with. It started good but it's on C W and most other shows today start turning into mush. And then with the impromptu break a few episodes in (for coof issues) it will just drop in a dark hole.
Far from it!
Damn it grabbed my attention from the intro to the end logo and theme, every, single, episode.
If by some chance you haven't watched this yet, sitting on the fence, You need to get on board because this is some of the better entertainment on TV for some time and one of best Superman and Lois renditions and explorations, unique to anything we've really seen. It's good TV... And in today's world that's become very hard to say with a straight face.
Reacher sure has taste going by his old flame... hubba hubba.
The show is yet again doing amazing at bringing plot, script, characters, production and direction as well as all other parts of this ensemble to craft an impressive series we can enjoy watching.
And with Reacher being greenlit already for season 3 it's all the more satisfying to know we can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Well done Cast and Crew..
This episode really did nothing for me. It was very predictable, timeframes were crazy messed up from what could understand. At the beginning of the episode they talk about 3yrs since but on the grave stone it has 2021. Are we ahead of the show now, just very confusing and frankly lame.
Wow... I love Tim Taylor and Tim Baxter but the latter and the show is getting really hard to watch. The compass has been thrown off direction and it seems as though it's going head long westward. Subject matter is down the gurgler, from racial politics, to relationship interferance, to other subjects that just comes from another world, but Not the Baxter world. Tell me there's only 12 episodes in this last season. I don't think I can last to 22.
I'm usually a big Doctor Who fan, have been for decades, but this season is a terrible mess of modern political propaganda, so much so I could not watch all episodes in this season. I'm sure there will be a handful of viewers that will like this new 'Doctor' but personally speaking, the Doctor's character does not change in any major way through the regeneration process.
I will continue to visit the Doctor again in season 12 but if it's the same I will not be watching all the episodes again as I didn't in 11.
The writing needs major improvement!
Another great episode... seemed like it only ran for 15min.
Loved the fake out of the silencer... classic! People who haven't got firearms knowledge would get sucked in to that, just like in reality those unknowledgeable in firearms think that AR-15's sold in the US are military grade 'Auto Rifles', they are not... they only have similar cosmetic styling as an auto firearm.
Similarly why did Russo do what he did? In situations like that there would be an unknown time frame when he and the girl would be flanked. If there was only one or two shooters you could stay in the one place. I'm not sure if he is, or is not,... we shall see.
And why did Reacher stand in the middle calling out the boss? Because he'd already got rid of the shooters and now he was calling out the desk bound dumbass boss who is Not a shooter. And he had some idea where he was.
If you have situational awareness and some understanding of tactical, it would all make sense. Some may nit-pik otherwise but Reacher is a show that shows off the expertise in the writing of the show and that's why it's such a great show, and Season 3 is already in pre-production.
A family / enemy / love / friends / whatever else triangle... Seriously? They tried to make it less predictable seeing these are the only people on the planet I guess it makes it hard to not get into this tangle.
I might just forget this season and come back for Season 4 if there is such a thing coming.
Very enjoyable indeed. Binged the lot and it was a blast.
You need to like mystery, sci-fi, subtitles (heavily used as there are migrants going to America) and having said that you need to be engaged continually to keep up.
There were a couple things that griped me, but it's more personal. I'm getting quite frustrated by the lead actor (not only in this show but others too), that has a husky voice and on top of that she is a quiet talker and whispers 90% of the time making it very hard to hear her especially the way these shows are mixed, always seems to have higher than normal background noise or music. It isn't all the women actors. Just damn annoying.
Then there are the predictables. But all in all the season engaged me, the actors held my attention.
The beetle... interesting. My overall rating for this season would be 8.5/10
This brings me back to that classic episode of The Simpson's when Burns had the many monkeys typing away which didn't work out well.
Where oh where are the writers coming from... what did they work on before or was this project passed to a grade 6 class for an exercise?
We get these shows are being pumped out to provide content on Disney+ but the least they could do get some actual Star Wars fans/writers to write these scripts.
Please Don't make the proposed spin off of the Third Sister, don't even consider it. This whole thing just felt like it was phoned in. I'm so glad there was only 6 episodes in this. Such a shame for any Star Wars fans to have to sit through this. The actors could only do what the script provides them. I have sympathy for the actors, it isn't their fault.
I have to say it... Seriously what was the point to showing that poster other than being just a big flag of virtue signalling. The show itself has been a beacon of multi culturalism. That should be all of what we need from a show and entertainment. I have to agree with others this episode was a big step up from the last season and to see some old faces.
Just finished watching season 1. A few points to bring up first.
1. Alan Tudyk is outstanding in this role
2. Every episode made me Laugh Out Loud several times in each episode, not just giggle
3. If you like off beat dark comedy - Watch This Show
Out the gate I have to say this is the funniest shows I've watched in years. Only Big Bang drew out belly laughs similar to Resident Alien. And Alan knocked it out the park in his delivery. Every character in the show has a story it isn't only about the alien. There's quite a bit happening in the show and I also appreciated the show having a Native American focus too. A nice touch considering we're focusing on Colorado rural area. I didn't see it just as a push for woke.
Big Black is a great addition and the deputy.
There are some fun surprises and seriously Resident Alien had me bursting out laughing many times mainly because I like dry wit, dark comedy, and plays on words. Last year sucked in so many ways. Resident Alien breaks those shackles, shows some amazing footage of Colorado, puts a smile back on faces and who doesn't need to exercise those smiling muscles and lungs again. WATCH THIS SHOW.
Great episode! This one I found to be of particular note. In a previous episode I was critical of a particular topic and some say it was Aram joking around. However in this episode there was a very clear distinction of Aram's wit and humour and it made me LOL, that's the Aram I remember (and the writing). Then we had a particularly intense moment pulling out all stops with Redington. I really love Spader in this role... Simply just Nails it Every time. Not too mention the writing is usually good, but this was exceptional. Too good to miss this episode.
Taking my time with Doom Patrol. I am really impressed that a show such as this, so 'cutting edge' and unconventional, got green lit in the first place.
Doom Patrol does some serious exploring and without giving anything away I'll only say this, sometimes it takes your inner super hero to obtain freedom from yourself.
Have a few episodes to go, but here's to season 2 in the future. I am glad I stumbled upon this gem!
This show needs to be picked up again. Keep the same two, Ealy and Urban as they played their parts well and had a great chemistry on screen. Almost Human didn't take itself too seriously, in fact I would say it had very similar traits as Stargate:SG1.
Definitely deserves a reboot on a better network, perhaps Netflix?
I'm not sure who categorised this as a drama/horror, but it should be relisted as Dark Comedy/SciFi... I like this show. There's been a number of times I've enjoyed a number of good belly laughs out loud. I hope we see a season 2.
Masterpiece.
That's all anyone needs to know when trying to figure out if watching Shōgun is worth the time and energy.
This miniseries should be required viewing for anyone in the entertainment industry to comprehend what good story telling and construction of a series is.
This should be the bar, the gold standard in quality in every respect that shows should endeavour to achieve. Not just in historical drama but every genre!
We have had a constant diet of empty, lifeless garbage flood our screens (for the most part), expecting easy money making profits while dishing out crap.
We don't expect the lavish expense that has gone into Shōgun as the norm, but do expect decent story writing without today's continual political agenda bashing the audience. We watch shows to get lost in the world and the story being told to us.
We refuse the incessant garbage. We demand stories written by people, not a room full of monkeys, or AI and we want those writers to be passionate and well versed in the story 'world' they are writing about. No more compromise, no more 'calling it in'.
Audiences deserve better, and Shōgun piqued our desire for exceptional story telling and crafting for the screen. The vast library of modern entertainment is a waste of money and time.
So... is that road/highway just for the girl Tom Cruise wannabe or does other traffic use it too.
I think I'd rather watch the Muppets, Pigs In Space, than Girls in Space Star Wars knock off with bland acting forced 'deep thoughtful non-expressions' and incredibly inept fencing choreography. The obligatory copy and pasting of ideas seem to be what we have to put up with of late.
The acting is made like there should be Helms worn by all with the long pauses of nothing, but there's not a helmet to be seen. There's only the acting and pauses like they have helmets on. 4/10
Onto ep 2.
Third episode in and my thoughts are, how did the writers of this season believe they write better than the creator who wrote the books?!
This is such a waste of time now. Story goes nowhere and everywhere. I can see very clearly why Henry Cavill dropped this steaming pile crap down the toilet where it belongs and said, 'Nope, I'm done'. I'm done too.
Well here we go again... Probably be better titled
Star Trek: Strange.
First, I was happy they made the doc more understandable, reduced his accent a little and slowed his conversation. But, that was the only thing I could praise.
I didn't last 20min before sitting this garbage down.
(There must bots giving this crap a good review score, 43 @ 80% ... you're kidding right!?).
So the very first episode of season 2 we have Pike leaving Enterprise and the crew (may as well call it an all woman crew because Spock just lost his balls somewhere around Enterprise.
So they take Enterprise while it's in space dock getting fixed and maintained, it supposed to be there for another 3 days, yet they decide to run away with it and take their time about it.
Spock no longer seems worried that he is continually being started as a human, he's anxious and his emotions are like they would be confirming his balls have been excised, making it an all girl crew.
And to rub salt into that wound Spock decides his 'thing' will be nothing Vulcan-esk but
'I would like the ship to go... Now'
That was it for me - enjoy wasting time with this trashpile. 'Punch it'
