Solo: A Star Wars Story

Exceeded all expectations, even after the big twist was spoiled for me. I genuinely loved it, and it delivered without even trying.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: 3x08 A Jury Of Their Queers

Y’all fucking know Shangela was robbed. She deserved to be top two, and she deserved to win. She is easily Drag Race’s biggest success story. Trixxie is so talented and is deserving of winning, but Shangela simply deserved it more.

Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds

If I had anymore tears to give for Carrie and Debbie I would of cried the entire way through. This was a beautiful exploration of an amazing relationship between mother and daughter. One of struggle and love and honesty and deep commitment to one another. The greatest testimony to their endearing relationship is that dear Debbie Reynolds could not bear to be without her daughter for even a day, passing so very soon after her beloved daughter. They are both unique and wonderful souls and dearly and truly missed.

Sherlock: 4x02 The Lying Detective

Now this, this is the reason why Sherlock is such a brilliant show. An exceptional episode. I don't know where to start; high Sherlock, hallucination Mary, crazy serial killer, secret evil sister, Moriary be showing up. I'm just devastated and elated all at once.

The Exorcist

I really enjoyed this. It was well written, well conceived, and with the direct ties to the cult classic movie, an instant hook in. However, I had wished for a more finalised ending. It was very open-ended, and without the demon plaguing Reagan and her family, what's the point? Fox may be a money making machine, but they need to learn to have an ending that actually ends.

When Marnie Was There

Why does studio ghibli want to see me a sobbing mess? This movie was beautiful; sentimental, heart warming, terribly tragic and all together perfect.

Yuri!!! on Ice

This is the gayest thing I've ever watched and I am beyond happy for it's existence. God has touched us with his etherial light and graced us with his love.

The Exorcist: 1x08 Chapter Eight: The Griefbearers

This series has exceeded all my expectations so far. While, of course, it will never measure up to the original movie, it has really delivered a breathtaking homage to the original. This episode really brought home what I was waiting for, direct interaction between Regan and Captain Howdy, it explored the post-traumatic stress and anxiety Regan still suffers, and it furthered the overarching plot as a whole. I'm just very impressed with this series thus far and hope it stays true to the classic. Also while the plot twist wasn't entirely surprising, the shock of losing a pivotal character was definitely needed at this point. Also can we please talk about Father Marcus Keane being an implied homosexual, I mean win-win.

What the sweet mother of Jesus just happened? Nope, didn't happen. I call bullshit.

Stranger Things

This was really worth the hype to be honest, a fantastic show with deliberate nods to all things eighties fantasy and pseudo horror. While personally not a fan of movies like dirty dancing and et, this series takes the best of eighties sensations and really monopolies on it. Truly lovable characters and human situations, it's really worth your time to watch, I cannot wait for me. Netflix originals are really bringing it.

How Clean Is Your House?

The British series is just better and it always will be. I mean it's not a bad series, it's just not the same. Also it's far too much with the product placement. I need less hocking and more home remedy thank you.

How Clean Is Your House?

I god damned love this show. These crazy ass ladies are so excited to clean and it gives me life. 10/10 do recommend.

Toradora!

Brilliant! Look, I'm a lapsed anime whore, deep inside an otaku little shit. And this show spoke to my love of really cheesy, chill, romance driven anime and I am so glad I watched it. 10/10 would recommend.

Sharknado

This is one of the best b movies of modern times, right up there with zombeavers. It's just the most ludicrous piece of crap ever and I loved every minute.

Cry-Baby

This movie is overacted, over dramatic, and all together fabulous. John Waters at his best, a brilliant concept, great music, and great actors. This is what grease could have been if they didn't care about a family friendly rating. 11/10 do recommend.

Julie & Julia

A beautiful and warming movie that speaks deeply to my love of food, how it can comfort and protect.

The perfect kind of perfectly acted trash film that I live for. If you've never actually watched this I pity you.

Suburban Gothic

Look I love Matthew as much as the next person, I didn't even mind that they up played his awkwardness to the point of insanity. Just this movie could have been so much better. You watched it for him and the horror esqu plot but ultimately a let down.

Matilda

You don't understand how much this movie means to me. You can grow up to be anything, family is earned, and imagination and learning is power. This movie is so innocent and pure and about being your true self above all else. And it makes me happy.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: 4x01 The Ghost

Probably not going to be a spectacular season, but I like were it's headed so far. It will be interesting to see how the team deals with mysticism and magic for the first real time, as Ghost Rider get's his powers from Mephisto, a primordial hell god, who utilities magic, not science. I'm going to need my band back together though.

Orphan Black

Easily one of the best new television programs of the last five years. Interesting idea, fantastic writing, and exceptionally well acted. Having a single actress act what starts as five completely different characters and then grows with each new season is both demanding and amazing, this women has talent beyond measure. Its a must watch show.

The Night Shift: 3x13 Burned

This show is quite frankly the best new show that I've watched in the last two years, it so easily brings you up to incredible highs and then leaves you in such lows. This episode was beautiful, everything I needed in a season finale.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: 3x25 Facets

Simply put on of the best episodes of this series, I mean all Dax centric episodes are brilliant, but this one is special. Learning and meeting from all her previous hosts are brilliant.

Ash vs Evil Dead

A brilliant series that really speaks true to the horror/comedy of the original. Sam Raimi brings his vision back in the best way possible, with a dream team of actors, including Raimi returners Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless, for a gorey, boozy, one liner filled demon killing blood bath. Seriously, the show is genius. Every bit as enjoyable as the Evil Dead series.

The Living and the Dead

I really wanted to love this. I love Colin Morgan, so very much, and the idea of a him in a horror/suspense themed period drama sounded great. But I just couldn't come at it, the show has fantastic bones and is rather brilliant in many episodes, but it was hard to follow at times, and difficult to see where it was going to go. Ofcourse the acting is on point, Colin is a wonder as always, but the show itself, needed work. I'm not surprised it wasn't picked up for a second season.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Look I know it's not really Star Trek, its an overhyped sci fi action movie masquerading as Star Trek, though the third installation made great strides in its Star Trekness. But seriously, I love this movie, its got the right level of geeky science, the classic villain, fantastic actors, queer baiting to high heaven, baddass Suluness. Seriously one of my favourites.

The Visit

A complete dud, seriously. There was a whole lot of build up for very little pay off, you spend the first forty five minutes of the movie thinking that incontinence and dementia are Shyamalan's idea of horror, and then when it finally gets scary, you're robbed of it so quickly its just depressing. Basically never trust anything Shyamalan does, he completely lost it when he butchered Avatar: The Last Airbender, and everything past that proves he sucks. When it was scary it was almost worth it, but don't recommend.

Terminator Genisys

A fantastic way to renew the franchise. Usually I am not a fan of alternate timeline storyarcs, as it's usually done badly and just an attempt to restore some credibility to a failing franchise or dig themselves out of bad writing. But it really worked here. Finally meeting Johns father, seeing skynet born, and anthropomorphised (thanks to Matt Smith), and then destroying it before it became a threat (well seemingly anyway), all of this worked great. I really enjoyed the father daughter relationship between t-800 and Sarah Connor, it really just worked fantastically especially with the younger Emilia Clarke playing Sarah Connor. I enjoyed this movie over the other three entirely, I feel that the focus was the story this time and not just the ass kicking action, though all the terminator movies have a rich, and well established story.

The Young Victoria

An exceptionally beautiful movie. Emily Blunt's performance was exemplary, not only does she resemble Victoria immensely, but her manner and tone was just superb. I love how this movie focuses on not only her love with albert, the driving force in her early life, but her desire to improve the life of her subjects. It portrays VIctoria's devotion to her people and her husband, and the turbulent struggles of her early reign. This movie is just so exceptional, it makes me cry every time.
