How come Crowley was able to get out of the tape in the voicemail recorder, but Hastur wasn't?
loading replies
@misnomer Crowley jumped out right before the tape started recording, which trapped Hastur in it, until eventually somebody called that number again... ;)
Wtf just happend, they better renew this show.
loading replies
@ibrahim_ It's already been renewed for a 5th season which also will be the last season.
The lack of integration with Infinity War and/or Endgame was annoying, it made me lose attention and interest in this show.

VIP6Much as I love this show, I will never understand people rating stuff before they've seen it. Currently unaired and yet already 7 people have rated it; really helpful, guys. >_<
Edit: 3 months after my initial comment and 13 people have now rated it before it's aired. FFS.

@2ls1t You are totaly right. There is an easy fix for this that Trakt can add; disable rating before air date.
Ah yes, the old suck sunlight out plants trick.

@cacione It's a reference to the Dark Knight Returns where the earth sacrificed a rain forest to keep Superman alive. But instead of overwrought poetry we have Alex begging Kara to "take the grass!"

No matter how cheesy this show gets, people keep coming back for more. And it keeps getting renewed. Something for everyone.

@timekeeperseven Yet you’ll be back to give it bad reviews next season lol.

VIP7I'm ready for this nightmare to end
Thank you Barry for this meta line that encapsulated this finale so well.
More cicada shit? Got it. Weird resolutions with little to no context? got it. Selective timeline alterations? got it.
Let's be honest guys the only saving grace this episode had was the Eobard scene (yea that thing we actually cared about that kept being treated like a Z plot. remember?) and even that got ruined cause they rewinded it.Cicada has to be the worst Villain so far, just completely unlikable even as a villain, made worse by the GraceCada version we got later. The plot point that kept ending but never did till some time wimey bullshit. Cisco decided to take the cure without getting a second opinion? yea sure. Why would Nora even disappear? none of the events that brought her to that point were changed in a manner that would make her disappear.
7 for the ep just for Eobard and the angry helicopter sounds. 6 for the season, I hope the supposed writing staff shakeup we're due for next season brings some soul back to this show.
loading replies
@superrob1500 I think Nora has disappeared because in the new timeline Flash was vanished in 2019 instead of 2024. She just wasn't conceived. But why her diary hasn't disappear? Because speedforсe language in it? Does it mean that if they wrote something this language on Nora's forehead, she wouldn't disappear? :)
The whole season - the plot hole over the plot hole over the plot hole..
Anyone else feel the movie suffered from a bit of "unfulfilled potential" in not really closing the full circle of its plot?
loading replies
@thogek Totally! Nice play on words.
what's does being a transgender woman have to do with this story???????? this show has lost my interest
loading replies
@lordmillion You say it like it was made into a whole plot or something. It was just a line.
The scene in the airplane was one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen on tv. And what’s with all this adoption agency nonsense.
loading replies
@minibutmighty They/the show was kinda self aware of that ridiculousness with Snakes on a plane reference, that was a nice touch.
This episode would have worked better in an earlier season. In this one it was out of place, especially with the characters involved.
Felicity was annoying as ever... If she was in my interrogation room I'd have taken out the Yellow Pages quite quickly.
loading replies
@mansemat: She's pregnant, dude.
Flight 000 to love triangle land will begin boarding now. LOL
Also, Cal, net time you gotta leave, just draw and hide a full on map for Olive to find in your top-secret twin hidey hole. Or better yet, just tell your dad and have him take you.
And how convenient was that drawing of Ben, Mic and Grace looking at a drawing? No better way to override mom's scepticism and convince her to jump on board the crazy conspiracy/super abilities/maybepossiblyaliens train!
It's getting on my nerves that instead of getting answers, more questions keep popping up. Like for instance, if Zeke disappeared in december 2017, how was he gone for two years? I thought the show is set in our current time, which would mean they found him in dec-18 or jan-19, right? And that would mean he lost one year, not two (not one of the actual questions, but the not adding up bothered me).
loading replies
It’s one year. The present is still 2018 on the show.
Great show through first 2 seasons, but that remains to be seen in the future with the removal of Clayne Crawford. It won't be the same.
loading replies
@buzzmant I'm pretty sure I won't watch it. The show ended for me.
WTH happened to Clayne Crawford?
loading replies
@nebthet he was awesome at his job, he practically was all the show and carried all the crap on his back and made it look good with his performance, would be entitled to be an asshole, but by Wayans Twitter implosion with absolutely no comment from Crawford I'm pretty sure he isn't one.
@datbabyaintmine Wrong episode, but me too, it was funny as hell.
That was a pretty decent Russian accent. I like Kaznia Kara.
Not sure where to rate this episode- I sort of feel in the middle on this one, between a good and a great. While I loved the Red Daugher, I couldn't get rid of the feeling that they were rewriting this plot as it was happening.
And of course Lex knows Supergirl's identity- but how?
Maybe we'll get really, really lucky and it will turn out Eve was working for Lena this whole time. Although...why would Lena keep Red Daughter a secret from Alex or Supergirl? thats why i say "really really" lucky.
loading replies
@dewdropvelvet
In most versions of Lex know Superman's identity. If knows that then he knows hers.
Another exquisitely curated episode. Really impressed with this season.
So, earlier in the episode, Margot explained, rather eloquently, how when someone in her station sleeps with someone like Josh, it's normal for him to be a bit stir-crazy about the whole thing. then one hour later, she's saying she's gonna marry him. I mean, okay, I do have some personal bias here, because Josh reminds me of someone sketchy that I knew, and just basically everytime I see Josh, I want to puke, but I guess he's not a horrible character, I mean, not only can he cook, but he can see personalities from what people eat, which actually seems like a really inane pathetic skill-set to be honest, like, your whole view of people is so basic it's only metaphor is food, but it's come in handy once. Anyway, I guess Im in favor of them as a ship for the plot momentum, but I didn't think it made sense for Margot to all of a sudden be all weak about nebbish Josh. (Sorry to any Josh fans.) As much as I love seeing Margot be sensitive and bitchy, Well, I just kinda would like better for her, more like a straight hunky Elliot, but there's no other guys around so.. I'm sure there's a plot term for this... contrivance. And i'm sure she likes being the hot commodity in the relationship and they have history so I can almost buy her swinging but.... Whatevs.
That's all. Not labeling this comment as a spoiler because what I revealed was really trivial. Feel free to leave angry comments if you disagree.
loading replies
@dewdropvelvet Uuuhhh... But that Margo thing was just in Fen's dream :P
And about Josh, well, I think they're doing justice to the book character, a truly awesome guy with the curse of seemingly never being able to show how awesome he is.
This season is a slog to get through. Sherloque is the worst Wells. Even the moron with the drum sticks was better. Chris Klein is a terrible villain. After X-3 I'm surprised anyone was stupid enough to attempt a meta-cure storyline but the CW said "Hey Marvel, hold my beer"
loading replies
@redshirt I don't mind the "Meta cure" storyline. It's actually a storyline that's fairly realistic and makes sense. There's no way in a world of powered people destroying buildings and infrastructure someone wouldn't try to just find a cure to return them to normal human status. What I don't like is the whole "How dare you try to eugenics my culture" something that isn't a culture. It's especially grevious in Black Lightning where the girl doesn't want her powers and her father is raging at the idea of even trying to research how to stop them.
In The Flash, there's literally no reason not to try to put everything back to normal. Considering it's only been going on for about 5 years since the explosion. But the whole "Killer Frost is offended" part is the eye rolling part for me.

VIP7How did it all go so wrong? Eobard went from ruthless calculated killer to relationship adviser in 5 short seasons. What a joke!

That's how human psychology is though. It's enough to see one small thing to remind us of something bigger.
Did they really need to bring Karen back? she was completely unnecessary in this episode
loading replies
@abstractlegend And I disagree, she always jumps in when the heroes need legal help.
And she got her and Madani to see the morgue because she has history with creepy ed, Madani wouldn't have gotten in otherwise. This to get to know it was a setup which lead to Frank knowing he is not the same and doesn't deserves punishment himself. Also leading to him leaving from the hospital early.(He wanted to die from the syringe because he though he deserved it and wouldn't have left if he didn't knew this). From which point Karen isn't needed anymore as he's out of the legal reach she has. + she set off the fire alarms to let the others go undetected.
So, technology in this world is stuck in the 1950s but Strange managed to invent and manufacture a MICROCHIP and a Brain-Computer Interface??
loading replies
@erebos The show draws elements from different decades, according to the New York Times: "the ambience is New York in the 1970s, but characters use computers and carry cellphones. Their clothes could be from the 1950s. And the buildings... look more like edifices from the 1930s, or even longer ago". Some buildings are created by the visual effects department and inspired by 1800s London! It's very Gotham.
I so want to give an episode an 8, but.....but damnit if some element ain't missing.
I did like the last ten minutes. Russo having his panic attack in the street as bullets whiz by.
What did that girl (psychiatrist) think was going to happen? That they'd hole up and play house forever? As Russo said, he's not a house pet. She should get her rocks off sticking her hand in a door jam instead.

@dewdropvelvet That psychiatrist needs a psychiatrist. She might be more messed up that Billy.

VIPEP6Emily x Emily? Now that was an unexpected surprised! And an emotional one, too. Emily had the husband Emily Prime wanted, and Emily Prime had the daughter Emily wanted. I was expecting some sparks with those two together in the same room, but I'm glad they came to an understanding.
I was sad for Howard when he stopped right in the middle of the Crossing, looking at both Emilies from each side... It really seemed he did not want to go back home. I still hope he'll find peace and comfort with his own Emily. But things are different, now, so let's see how that goes for our Howard.
Seeing Nadia and Howard Prime team up provided a last minute fun —albeit short — moment that Clare should be thankful for. It's a pity that Nadia doesn't seem keen on murdering people, these days. She was really good at it and I do miss her character from season 1.
After that origin story episode a couple of episodes ago, I truly enjoyed seeing together again the original members who found and studied the Crossing (and then became the austere and distant, but always watching, Management). Aaaaaand they're gone. Damn it! Mira had everything carefully planned, so she did get her way in the end. Will the Crossing be closed forever, now? Does this mean no season 3 for Counterpart? Only one episode left to find out!

@waldner11 I really hope they got time to give us a proper ending (i.e., they knew beforehand this would be the last season). I don't watch many Starz shows, but I know they cancelled Ash vs. Evil Dead, though I'm almost sure they let Black Sails run its course on its own (those are the only two other Starz shows that I remember watching). Netflix does have a reputation for coming in the last minute to save shows in distress (Lucifer comes to mind, though that's one show I wouldn't mind it to have actually ended). Counterpart definitely deserves the last minute save, so let's keep our fingers crossed without getting our hopes up...
Good episode. I still can't shake the feeling that Raymond knows it's Liz or at least has considered it could be her. But I can see him being somewhat surprised once he finds out if he hasn't already. He probably won't care too much given the fact that it is Liz.

@mohammadhisham
The judge seems to like him more and more compared to her first appearance. I wouldn't be surprised if she's been working for him the entire time.
Review by dewdropvelvet
Liz's sister needs to get a life. Red may be a vicious criminal but he's always finding joy in life, and he shares those unexpected pleasures with those around him, like when he offered that champagne to his new prison friend. Maybe his altruism isn't because of emotion but lazy sentiment, and maybe his agenda isn't really pure, who knows, but If the bratty sisters really were actually related to this Red, maybe they'd at least get their snubbed noses out of the air for long enough to enjoy something other than planning ways to hinder Red.
Red will likely forgive Liz when it's all over, but she's really straining the limits of forgivability, even by his standards of her, which are laxer for her than anyone else. Maybe she wants to test things, like daddy issues? I wonder where this new vigilantism about him on her part comes from. She's mad he had secrets? But did he ever really lie to her face and if he did wasn't it to protect her? I guess she has to further justify her husband's death, even though she did get revenge. She should wonder why Red treats her differently than her sister tho. I do.

@dewdropvelvet Well after attempting to kill Mr. Kaplan (although her intentions were good), nobody can be 100% safe from red

I read the first two books but not the third. I think watching this show may be better if you don't know how things pan out. Normally an episode where people don't have their powers would bother me, and if they didn't know who they were it would bother me even more, but this was done very well, with plenty of traction on all fronts. Plus their chosen identities were fascinating.
I like Marina's makeup. Purple lipstick, flashy eyeshadow, dangling hexagon earrings. All a good look on her.
Fog is trying to redeem himself and is letting Julia be part of magic. That scene with her in his office was touching. I like Dean Fog.
The only thing I wish I knew is the books description of the animals current plaything scenes with Quentin. Maybe I'll read those. In the past, the show has found ways to stay true to the multi-layered lathered-up descriptions in the books.
Loved how the horned God talked to Margot, calling her the "little boy high king."
May have graded a bit high on this one, but I missed the show.
Also: Dear person who went thru the first five eps here and gave them fake synopses: Alice and Quentin confront a dog? Dean Fog gets a new suit? Margot eats a muffin from Josh? I think you can do better. I did like Julia drinks schnapps, tho.
loading replies
@dewdropvelvet Just want to say the episode synopses are pretty much what NBC (NBC is a parent of Syfy) is releasing on their press site. They're being weirdly vague and nondescript with their synopses this season. I can't wait until Quentin meets a snake.

I have a bad feeling about Jennifer. She doesn't seem genuine. Either she's working for someone else or she's working for Raymond. I don't believe she's simply someone who wants to know the truth.

@legendaryfang56 I don't like her much either.. and I wasnt happy with how Liz was being. After all red's done, she's being ungrateful. How much clearer can he be that he has secrets he needs to keep? She should have told him about the DNA thing when he asked her what secrets she was keeping. She can't play on his level. Or maybe she can, but it's just not worth this "price" that's gonna hurt them both.
