Not sure anybody in this show right now is a decent person. Except for maybe, again, Kathy. I get confused whether the episodes play chronologically (my fault, could pay more attention to the first seconds), but as this being chronological after all, wtf is Ian’s deal. throws hands in the air
This main cast is basically made up of a bunch of immature assholes.
Lmao. They say Kathy is "such a mess". By now she seems to be the one who's the least of a mess in this whole show. Well, she and her guy - haven't seen enough of him yet to ascertain his state of messiness haha.
Speaking of mess, that mom is another one. Holy. Also least believable character in the show. Like she was just dropped in there while the writers were drunk.
Dear Roy, or the propaganda shot for “look how much fun it is to be working in a mine”, aka We want YOU to be working in this here dreamy, dark place.
This episode had a lot of nice scenes. Now let’s see whether they give us demise or cliffhanger for the last one :sob:
At last, a really good one. This one was hilarious. I think I prefer this show being comedy rather than pretend-series, as that is way less believable. This way, the occasional sloppy writing isn't as noticeable either cough.
Really fun episode! Enjoyed! It!
Been enjoying the show, but this episode was just really ...bad. It had sloppy and lazy writing written all over it. Really? You really want to play that "ohhh the one who got away" to... make it interesting? Then have the laziest and most boring conversations, make their relationship or whatever entirely implausible, portray their connection that's supposedly so important, as hollow...
Please next time, spare us that incredible bore. That episode was a waste of my time. Too much eyerolling to enjoy.
Hope they pick up.
Unsurprisingly, patriarchy wins once more. All else in that time is just wishful thinking.
Great episode though, I've been enjoying this show. The fake Norwegian was atrocious though :joy:
Horses, and watching "people know horses", are a plus.
Would you look at those plot-twists though!
Matt is amazing in this one.
I mean. He usually is. But some of the NPCs this episode are just so very enjoyable!
While I feel this show might be declining in its quality with time, I would still watch it for the humour and the incredible visual aesthetics alone. This show is feeding my sense of aesthetics way too well.
I might be alone on this, but I found this show rather boring and incredibly tropey and predictable. I dropped it after three episodes. If it truly gets MUCH BETTER after, I may give it another go if I find myself so inclined, but I'd rather watch something that actually gets to me.
Wow, this is depressing. I am so glad that I just barely scraped at being that very generation, and there's a big ocean between me and these kinds of lives. (Or, I'll hold on to that illusion for a little bit longer if it keeps me saner) Still, too close to home. If this raw portrayal of the world isn't going to make you sick, you must be drugged down or a sociopath. Great show. Definitely not made to sugarcoat or make you feel good though. If you like having your delusions about the way of the free blown away, this is perfect for you.
I liked how many conversations you can have simply with “hmmmmmmmmm” - “hmmm!!” - “hmm...hmm!”, and “yeeeeeessssss”. Highly enjoyable, yessssss?
I liked that this movie, rather than being a retelling of the old, embeds it and tells a new story. Which is in my opinion a far better use of reusing old tales just for the sake of bringing them back on screen. The degree of photo realism is right too — the animals are let be animals, albeit very smart ones, with most of their expression in their eyes. It works well here. (Plus, Dumbo is so adorable!)
What I didn’t like is forcing romance into it.
And my biggest pet peeve is one little thing really, but it almost drove me mad haha: at some point they take a photo of dumbo with an old analogue camera, and in the papers the next day there’s an extremely pixlated crop of it. PIXLS. Come on!!! You had like ONE JOB. Could they not afford one little print for their movie?
So much body horror. Glad there was some comic relief in between. This one was pretty intense!
Beautiful work of art and poetry. It truly is a ghost story, with incredibly artful and aesthetic still shots especially in the first 2/3 of the movie. Each and every one was a piece of art. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We really hadn’t expected for it to hit so hard toward the end though. Sad and nihilistic was fine. Somehow they topped that.
I was surprised at how NeoNoir this film was, had not expected that.
Thoroughly enjoyed the twists as well as the long, uncut fighting scene.
